If Ash actually went on a date with (insert preferred girl here), would Pikachu come?

That's a thought that just popped into my head. Most threads here are about who would pair up with who, but this is different. And it does belong here since it's talking about dating. :p

So if Ash actually did go on a date with whoever, would he take Pikachu? Would Pikachu insist on coming? Would he tell Pikachu to stay behind, only to have it decide to secretly follow? Or what?
 
Maybe. Knowing Ash, that seems likely. Although if he did then the other person might bring one of theirs.
 
Pikachu is to Ash, as A Security blanket is to Linus.
Ash is to Pikachu, as man is to water.

I think that covers it.
 
Maybe. I say it would depend on how old Ash is.
Also like Misty pointed out where he is going.
 
I think he would bring Pikachu. You never know when or where Team Rocket will strike. And knowing Ash, his date will probably involve watching a Pokémon tournament or participating in one, then going out for dinner.

And if his date were in Alto Mare, at least Latios and Pikachu could play together.

That's something to consider as well. Would his date mind it? Would she like or accept it for a while, then get tired of it, and start an argument with Ash over whether or not Pikachu continues to accompany them?
 
Depends on the girl. I would let him do whatever he wants. XD
 
If Ash went on a date, it would be with Pikachu. And I don't mean Pikachu tagging along.

... There's always that option, I guess.

Really, it's going to depend on the girl and the place - but I don't really think any of the primary suspects would really care, as long as the place isn't high-society.

Of course, if it were me, I'd let Pikachu come for the date, but he'd have to miss out on the fun afterwards. :O

At the age/maturity level he is in the anime now, I can't see him going on a date without it being set up by someone else and turning into a fiasco. That being said, yes, Pikachu would go.

However, if he were older, it might be different...
 
Yeah, sure, I think he'd bring Pikachu. For example, let's say the girl is Misty or even May, I think they'd both understand how important Pikachu is to him to be missing such a blessed event.
 
Pikachu doesn't go with him everywhere. Does Pikachu go with Ash when he takes a shower? Or when he uses the toilet?

I think not, so I wouldn't imagine Pikachu going with Ash and his date to a restaurant...or his bedroom.
 
No, but whenever Ash does anything recreational (surfing, going to a park, swimming, etc) Pikachu is always there. Dating is recreational and it seems logical that Ash would bring Pikachu along.
 
I really can't picture Ash without Pikachu :p .So I'm guessing yes, yes would. Although I'm guessing it would be different if he were an adult. Or on second thought maybe not, who knows.
