If Ash battled the Elite Four, with six Pokemon only, who should he use?

I think he should use; Charizard, Sceptile, Staraptor, Heracross, Glalie and Pikachu.

Sinnoh Elite Four? Because there's a difference between each region's E4...and I'm assuming a battle with Cynthia is in this mix right?

Well, looking at the Sinnoh E4 and Cynthia (and assuming their teams are similar to their D/P and/or Platinum teams), there's nothing like a good Pika/grass/fire/water (ice)/flying/ground combo that would do the trick.

Pikachu- (vs. any part flying type and Cynthia's Milotic)

Infernape- (vs. Aaron, and some of Cynthia's pokemon, I know Charizard could be used here too but reading the question, if Ash did battle the E4, he'd be in Sinnoh and Charizard's not flying to Sinnoh so...)

Sceptile- (vs. Bertha, Cynthia's water types, give it Night Slash and it can go to town on Lucian)

Buizel/Glalie- (water covers Flint and Bertha, ice covers Bertha, some of Aaron's bugs, and Cynthia's Garchomp)

Swellow- (vs. Aaron, Flint's Infernape, and some of Cynthia's pokemon...other birds could be used too but I picked Swellow since a speedy, Gusty Swellow, is a good Swellow :-D)

Donphan/Gliscor- (vs. Aaron, Flint, Gliscor's X-Scissor would be great against Lucian, if Donphan's EQ wasn't banned it'd be good against a lot of other pokemon)

So there's my list. It's pretty shallow since it was picked due to type advantage but I figured the pokemon I chose have shown to be strong at some point during the anime series so it doesn't matter.

I mean tbh, if Ash really did battle the E4 with six pokemon only, he'd probably lose.

Why wouldn't he? Kingler is arguably his strongest water type and Noctowl knows some psychic moves and powerful flying attack so he's a bit more versatile than Staraptor and Swellow.

They match up well against the E4's known pokemon.
