If Ash had to Oak one of his Sinnoh Pokemon for a 7th capture, who would you choose?

For those who don't know, Ash just caught a Gligar in the most recent episode. That brings him to a total of 6 Pokemon already and he's only 3 badges into Sinnoh.

Some people speculate he got a full team this early because he may make another capture later on. If so, which of his current 5 (not counting Pikachu) do you see getting Oak'd to make room for someone new?

Staravia is the least interesting for me so I hope he'll Oak it if he must Oak someone
But the fact he got his sixth Pokémon early can also mean the writers again prove they learn from mistakes and don't want to repeat things like Phanpy or Glalie so they gave him the last one now instead of a little before the saga ends

What, no poll?

And I second Starravia. It's just a poor man's Swellow at the moment.

Very true. Now he can concentrate on evolving them. Staravia will likely evolve into Starraptor, Buizel will evolve into Flowsel, Chimchar will go all the way, Turtwig will evolve one, and Gligar will evolve so they can have a Gliscor showdown when Paul and Ash meet for their fateful, final battle.

What? You people fail. Mukkubird is ace.
I'm gonna say naetoru. Boring design, shitty movepool, zero personality. Couldn't care less about that thing.
In my dreams it is traded for an awesome, awesome roserade. Yeah I know, it will surely happen...

What makes you think they'll all evolve?

I suspect that, as last time, all of Ash's Pokemon will evolve except one. At this point, I suspect Turtwig will remain Turtwig and Chimchar will become Infernape, Buizel will become Flowzel, and Staravia will become Staraptor.

Turtwig has personality... not the best but it has
Staravia is the one that doesn't have personality... I really can't understand what people find in it
And by design and attacks Turtwig also is much better than it... in my opinion

Actually, that's true (except the design part, because mukubird is one of the greatest looking pokemon ever), but there is one big difference between them, and that is the entertainment-factor, where naetoru fails miserably. I don't care if mukubird doesn't win a single battle in whole friggin' shinou, he is great fun, while naetoru -I can't help- just bores me to hell.

I'd have to pick between Turtwig and Staravia, but heck i'd rather them be released than oaked, since going to the bench is just as bad.

Something that will be fully evolved... Either Flowsel or Mukuhawk... But I think it'd be Mukuhawk. A flyer is not so needed in the anime...

The funny thing is Turtwig is my least favorite on his current team but there's no way a Sinnoh starter is leaving the cast.

Its exactly why Brock kept Mudkip even into Battle Frontier instead of leaving it at Pewter, the writers will want all three starters on the series together, even if one of them is always treated worse than the others.

Thing is that Muku should be the one to leave. Satoshi JUST helped Turtwig learn a new move, I doubt he'll oaked. I mean yeah he helped Staravia learn Aerial Ace, but I mean that and it's win against Cherubi are it's ONLY memorable things it has done thus far.

It at least has another evolution coming, so that will probably make it more memorable. Who cares if it sucks in battle now? Are people forgetting that Taillow completely sucked in battle until it became Swellow and then turned into Ash's best flying type?

Either that or the writers love Swellow so much that they don't want Staravia to appear as good as it.

I really don't think that Gligar will evolve just cause Paul has one too. I think he may oak it for another pokemon, and then with the possibility of them going to johto he could pull and Phanpy and pick it back up.

While that is true, I'm going with Muku only because if it's bettween the turtle and the bird, I'll say the bird because he was trying to work with the turtle(Very weird saying it like that XD). I mean I'm not saying that Muku can't do anything memorable, I'm just saying that it seems like the writers are trying to give us a more interesting flying type. Heck maybe no one gets shafted and it's like Kanto.

If Ash send one of his now full team Pokemon, the only candidate for it will be Gligar, because he broke the "traditional Ash's Pokemon Team". Check it out:

+ An electric type which, obviously, it's always Pikachu.
+ A Flying type which, usually, it's a Bird-Pokemon: Pidgeotto (before evolve to Pidgeot)-Noctowl-Swellow-Staravia. Before he had some of his "Official Flying Bird Pokemon" he had some kind of substitute like Butterfree, Heracross and sometimes Charizard.
+ A Grass type Pokemon: Bulbasaur-Bayleef-Sceptile-Turtwig.
+ A Fire type Pokemon: Charizard-Cyndaquil-Torkoal-Chimchar.
+ A Water type Pokemon: Squirtle-Totodile-Corphish-Buizel.
+ The sixth Pokemon can be any kind: A Bug Type (Butterfree and Heracross), a Fighting Type (Primeape), a second Water Type (Lapras), a Normal Type (Snorlax), a Ground Type (Phanpy-Donphan), a second Grass Type (Bulbasaur-Bayleef), an Ice Type (Snorunt-Glalie)...ect.

Now, the one who broke this traditional team is Gligar being a second Flying Type and a not-bird-Pokemon. So Gligar will be just like Heracross in Johto, he will travel with Ash team by some time and he later will be send to Oak's lab by some reason. Then Ash will have space for another sixth Pokemon, which I really hope it will be Riolu.

That makes sense, and this episode is alot like "Sappy Ending." Where Ash caught Heracross in the sense that Gligar decided to join him.
