This is something that has bothered me for awhile, why is it that it's okay to say that the Pokémon Producers should get rid of Brock because he's become boring now when you can say the same thing about Team Rocket.
I know this can be considered controversial because Team Rocket has a very loyal fanbase and I know there is going to be about 1001 reasons given why I'm wrong, but hear me out for a moment.
With Brock it's all about that he's become a one-note joke. He cooks for the gang, he takes care of their Pokémon and he gets crushs on every girl his age or older.
Team Rcoket is really the same thing. Yes, they do have TONS of character development (to the point that it causes continuity problems) and Jessie not only is in contests. She's now can even win in them.
In the end of the day though the basic idea of the TR characters remain. They try to catch Pikachu or character of the day Pokémon. They use some farfetched scheme that ultimately fails and they go blasting off once more (sometimes more than once in the episode).
Brock is like the older brother, Ash never had. He takes care of Ash with advice on Pokémon, feeds him, is a good friend when he needs him, and when the rare occurance comes he actually a great battler. Plus, he now has Croagunk, which has become his signature Pokémon (in Hoenn it did seem for a time that Ludicolo was going to be given that honor until the writers realized he had Mudkip and it wan't getting enough screen time. LOL).
Really, can't we just accept that Brock is here to stay. He's the show's sidekick and when he gets the rare spotlight episode it's usually a great episode (the same with TR). Brock is every bit a part of the show as Ash, Pikachu, or Team Rocket.
If not then why should he get the boot and not TR.
That's my two cents.
Okay then, READY. . . SET. . .DEBATE.
