If G/S is remade, will Marina become a bigger part of the anime?

The writers seem to be teasing us with Marina in the D/P series, almost as if they're alluding to something that may occur in the future. She's had two cameos in the series so far, the newest one depicting her as a coordinator.

She's currently the only one of the main videogame heroines not to have a starring role in the regular anime, (sans Leaf Green girl), do you think the writers are now using her as perhaps a preview of what might come? Its fairly obvious to me that if Marina had been around at the start of G/S rather than coming along with Crystal, that she might have been on the group in the Johto region and Misty would have left at the end of Orange. But since that boat sailed, are the writers now wanting to give Marina another chance in the series since she got pretty much nothing compared to May and Dawn?

She's an experienced trainer but since she's a coordinator there's no way she could fit in currently with Dawn on the group, although there is a possibility of Marina becoming a rival to Dawn later on in the saga.

And on top of that, do you think it is a bit arrogant of the writers to have the three main playable female characters of each gen, (May, Dawn and now Marina of R/S, D/P and G/S respectively) as coordinators? The personalities of the three do overlap at some points as well, so what are your thoughts on this and do you think Marina will play a bigger role in the anime in the future, considering she missed out of her chance to be in the spotlight back during Johto?

Or will Marina, the main G/S female protagonist never get any special focus in the anime like May and Dawn got during their respective sagas? And if we do get G/S remakes down the road, will Marina having a bigger role become much more likely in your opinion?

Don't forget, we've been teased with Marina during the intros to movies too, along with Brendan.

I am liking the connection to her in the anime and the games coming out. I am pissed off of the lack of MAIN characters being coordinaters what if we ditched Dawn or kept her and got a 4 member of the group. A male coordinater. I mean Harley doesn't really count... jk Harley rox and Drew is too moody.

My hope is that Dawn and Marina will face off in the Sinnoh Grand Festival, and Jimmy and Ash will face off in the Sinnoh Conference. After all, Paul has Chimchar (which becomes Infernape) and could face Charizard like Harrison's Blaziken, so Jimmy would allow Johto's final form Fire starter to get some time.

Kenta and Satoshi?
I would rather prefer Blue and Satoshi. They could fit Blue as some neighbourhood girl from Masara Town, so Satoshi can recognize her. We have 3 coordinator girls. We need a Trainer girl now! Blue is always a better choice than some anime-made thing.

If Marina appears in GF, I want to se her kick Hikari's (or Nozomi's) ass. Don't give them any chance, Rina!

If G/S is remade, we're possibly going to see Kenta and Marina redesigned, as their game counterparts would be redressed. Well, I don't care. I just want the game.

I would also like to see Kouki or Jun in the League. Even a brief cameo (with some Pokemon) would satisfy me.

I just hope the DP will be a good series, with many cool characters, plots, and overally similar to the games. It started pwnsome, but now I can see it getting worse.

How? Because Marina isn't like the one in your fanfic?

What do you mean?

By "getting worse" I meant that the DP series is getting similar to GS series. We are having more fillers and the series is going slowlier and slowlier. We also didn't get Kouki or Jun, and we got lousy characters like Kengo or J instead.

Marina is a different issue.

Except J and Kengo are both pretty awesome characters. I mean, did you really expect them to live up to Harley? I think it's impossible. I don't think the series is going slow at all, out of 41 episodes, 4 of those have been true 100% fillers. All the other 37 have had something of consequence happen in them that the cast might/will use in upcoming shows.

So, I really don't see how it's slow.

For the topic, I mean Marina, she's not going to be on the main lineup of rivals or the heroes . . she'll probably just pop up every once and a while. Unfortunately her character only came in G/S in Crystal so, I don't know. I think they're keeping Dawn on the cast until the next gen of games.

I know that Crystal (not Marina) was only in Crystal but if they remake GS, they must have a female character for the remake. So, Crystal is the only rational choice. They didn't create new characters for FR/LG (they just dug out Red and Blue), so why in the world would they create new characters for GS Remake.

She appeared only in Crystal, but she is considered as Generation II female player character. So, there's no reason to not keep her for possible remake.

Eh, I love most of the new D/P characters, but Kengo is pretty boring. He's easily the least interesting of all the main rivals we have in the anime, I really don't care if he ever returns or not.

I see a few people want Marina to be the "Robert" or "Solidad" of the Sinnoh Grand Festival. That would be great idea.

Maybe. Kinda Possible.

I just hope we see her new Pokemon.

If I could choose, I would like Marina's personality be closer to Saori than Hikari. While tomboyishness doesn't really fit Marina, it's always better than another Haruka clone.

He means he'd prefer Marina to be the Coordinator-to-beat (the "idol figure", whom all want to be like and surpass), given that Robert and Solidad were both the top Coordinators of their region. They were the overall fan-favorites in-series and rightfully so.

I'd like to see Marina more, but I'd like for her to be a trainer more than a coordinator. Though given her predisposition with "looking great", she's probably going to make her subsequent appearances as a coordinator.

But hey, there's nothing wrong with a trainer who wants to have good looks :D

Did they ever mention in the Raikou Special she was doing Gyms?

She could of been a Co-Ordinator since she started.

Didn't that one guy Ash tied with in the Johto League mention that the other two trainers who started with him had already participated in the league the year before? Probably a dub addition, but it would give her a goal before contest halls sprung up overnight.

It is possible that Marina originally did Gyms and then switched over to Contests at some point.

We've seen a lot of characters in the anime who did both so it would be the same here.

I just re-watched the Silver Conference, and Jackson/Vincent never said anything like that. :p

Heh, Grand Festival for Marina and Sinnoh League for Blue/Leaf sound like great ideas. I don't think Mairna will ever join the twerps, but it'd be nice to see her in a big role with the twerps present.

I was thinking the writers could easily retcon her to have been doing Contest since she started.

Wuh? Blue is a Special character, she's not part of neither game nor anime canon, and the anime does not "import" characters from other Pokemon licences (the Pocket Monsters character cameo in a movie excluded).

Leaf, however, is game canon, but she is only Blue in Special, which the anime obviously will ignore if they put her in. There is no "Blue" as far as the anime is concerned.
