If Iris and Dento are gone, who do you think will be the new companions?

I'm personally hoping for both of the new player characters that or the new fairy type gym leader :p

I think they are probably gonna add either the youngest gym leaders or the deage serena and cullam (sp?) or use shana and a random older teen boy. I think it's one of these options.
 
Ash is going to travel with Serena and one of the male gym leaders.
 
Right now, I'm thinking it will be Sana/Shauna and Toroba/Trevor.
 
There's an awfully large amount of rivals this time around. I'd like to say we'll have two of them, but then again, BW used Iris and Cilan instead of Bianca and Cheren. I wouldn't mind Shauna and Tierno being the companions, with Trevor as the rival.

At the very least though, I can imagine Shauna being a companion.

If Pokémon dance competitions become a thing, it would be interesting to see a male companion be the co-star rather than the female one. Trevor's enthusiasm for Pokédex data could open the door for him to be the go-to man for move and ability explanations.
 
I can see it going one of two ways.

1. The one I would prefer would be Ash, Serena, and a different male character who's not one of the in game rivals. I don't really want another gym leader; maybe an anime exclusive person.

2. The option I wouldn't like as much would be Ash, Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor. If they do use any of the rivals for Ash's companions, I can't see them not being all together.
 
I could certainly see him traveling with Shauna and Trevor. Tierno is a possibility, too, as is Serena. But I think I'd rather see Serena as Ash's rival. As for Tierno, I feel like he could be more of a recurring friend, like Stephan or something. But i wouldn't mind him traveling with Ash, either.
 
I'd like to see Ash travel with Serena and either Cilan or Tierno. I'd like to see a playable female trainer in the cast again, especially when that would mean that she would be more active in the cast. I could see them having Shauna travel with him, but I'd rather seen Serena. The presence of a sidequest in X/Y that they can adapt into a battle active goal in the anime will make or break her chances. I really don't want Ash to travel around with two Gym Leaders again. That would be kind of boring and it would reduce not only their screentime, but also hurt their chances for good development.
 
I personally want Serena as Ash's rival. I don't like Shauna's look, so they might can choose another character to be the main girl. As far as the boy goes, I don't like how Trevor and the other guy looks. Let's hope they have something better.
 
Team Rocket. They should be Ash's new traveling partners. You know, because if we're going to have them pulling their usual stuff, we might as well make things more interesting for once.

All joking aside, Serena, Tierno, and Trevor sounds good.
 
I'd like if they had four main characters instead of three again. Ash, Shauna, Tierno, and another character might work well.
 
I'd like it if the group was loose and disjointed. It could be Ash & the Female with the third spot being filled by a revolving door of recurring characters. Like how BW kept giving Ash-tachii a fourth member to make things interesting. They should do that again, but more often and even have people rejoin for a while.
 
I would like to see May travel with Ash again. May's ideal outfit would be that of Ash's Sinnoh outfit with his hat. I'm sure Ash would love to have May travel with him again. Also I think Hilbert and/or Nate would be nice to have with May and Ash.
 
I'm really hoping Serena is a companion, although I think Sana is a much more likely option. I think Toroba would be a good male companion, from what we know of his personality he'd fit the Takeshi-Dent archetype quite well.
 
I've mentioned this before, but my first hopes are Tierno and Shauna. Tierno actually has a goal from the games they can use instead of making up a goal for him. I think what hasn't worked out well with the male companions' goals is that their goal was fairly vague and didn't necessarily require the use of their own pokemon. But with Tierno, the whole performance aspect with his pokemon for a dance team requires use of them, so theoretically they should get screentime. I also like how the whole dance thing can be incorporated to Tierno's personality.

I think Shauna's a more interesting case. So far, she doesn't have an established goal so besides her personality, I don't know where they can take her character if she were to become a companion. I'm hoping to see more from the games to see more potential for Shauna.

Trevor and Serena are also possible choices for companions but my initial idea for their role in the story are more rivals. I think in those roles, they have some potential for interesting interactions imo.
 
I wouldn't like Iris and Cilan to leave.
Cilan has only got 3 Pokemon. He has not done much things as a Connoisseur, except the failure detecting thing.
Iris also has only captured 2 new Pokemon, and any time she thinks of battles she seems to be scared. She need more training.
I would like that the XY Series Group could be made up by:
Ash, Iris, Cilan, The Fairy Type Gym Leader(girl), and The male player character from X and Y or Virgil or even Max ?????

As much as I'm not a big fan of Tierno and Trevor's designs, I think it would be fun to have both of them along with Shauna in a group of four. Serena should be the rival and who knows what happens to Calem (like almost every male playable character in every generation).

If it has to be three members, I think it would look fine without Trevor and have him as a recurring character.
 
I wouldn't mind if they used Shauna, since I think they said that she's kind of high-strung. Trevor would be good for a male companion.

Honestly, I hope they don't use the female player character. I'm afraid that if they do, they'll make her hot-headed like Misty/May/Dawn/Iris. We don't need another Misty expy. We've had enough of them.

I actually hope that this time around they make the girl companion the cooler one and the guy companion the hot-headed one.
