If only this wasn't a signature move.

So I was looking around and saw that heliolisk has a signature move called "electrify". When used it makes your opponent's move electric for that turn. This could be used for some cool strategies, but one of them would be much more effective if other pokemon could learn it.

You could be in a double/triple battle and have heliolisk use electrify on an opponent, then have another pokemon on your side have lightningrod. Preventing damage and increasing special attack!

Then here is the one that would work much better on other pokemon in single battles.
In double/triple battles if you know an opponent will attack one of your pokemon that has volt adsorb, use electrify on them and they will be healed.
In a single battle though (if a pokemon with volt adsorb could learn it themselves) if your pokemon is low on health and outspeeds your opponent you could use electrify to heal yourself and prevent your opponent from dealing damage.

I just thought that it could be a really cool strategy, but would be much more effective if a pokemon with volt adsorb could learn it. Especially on a pokemon with a little more speed.

I wish more Pokemon would get Psycho Boost, for the sake of a strong Psychic move.

Can't you sketch signature moves? Your Electrify strats could actually work.

If Pikachu wasn't so damned overexposed, Pokémon like Luxray and Zebstrika could learn Volt Tackle.

Malamar can't really make effective use of Topsy-Turvy since it's so slow, on any Prankster mon it would completely turn the tables on Pokemon that rely on setup moves.

I feel that Night Daze restricts Zoroark's ability to use this move while keeping its disguise. If Night Daze is not restricted to it, then perhaps it could make the opponent guess that Pokemon. By extension, Illusion should be available to another Pokemon since its usefulness is increased the more users it has.

Trick-or-Treat is a fairly neat trick, especially when given to more Ghost-types (only Gourgeist family got this), because they will surely be able to take advantage of the increased power, and any Ghost-types with Pursuit. It would be interesting if Spiritomb gets it, since it has Dark STAB. Even Banette could be an interesting user since it has priority (and Pursuit).

Although there aren't many Pokemon who could sensibly learn Forest's Curse (Trevenant family learns this only), it would be nice to make it more widely available, to take advantage of Grass-type's weaknesses.

Thanks for reading.

Well sketch is also a signature move. I don't think smeargle has volt adsorb or lightningrod :p

True. I didn't really think this trough. But i think if a pokemon with Volt Absord/Lightningrod would get that move it would be somewhat broken. Since there's basically not much you can do against someone that carries that.

I wish more Pokémon than Meowth and Persain could learn Pay Day $)
Purrloin can learn it through Breeding, and it was a TM in generation 1. But you're right, it is pretty restricted now.
Meowth and Persian are ther only ones that can use Pay Day effectively through use of Technician. It's wasted on Purrloin.

Just what is the point of Kinesis? Since Flash's accuracy got boosted in gen IV, Kinesis is the inferior choice.

The Porygons get those fun conversion moves, but it's pointless having more than one per moveset. Pory is better at flat-out attack/sp. attack anyway because it's low bulk won't allow for much else.

Well many people love to use porygon2 with eviolite (though knock off screws them).

Malamar would like that for Contrary. (And I think it should get it.)

Powder is a pretty good signature move that sadly only Vivillon gets. Despite it seemingly being a Bug specialist move, I could see it being shared out to some Grass-types too. Not Ferrothorn though.

Parting Shot is also another that could see more use on other mischievous or underhanded Dark-types. Though I'm not a fan of adding more combinations to Volt-turn strategies, so maybe it should stay on Pangoro.

Fiery Dance would be fun on Pokemon like Ludicolo, Meloetta, etc even if it doesn't make too much sense. Any mon that has a dancing theme really.

Shift Gear would be amazing on multiple other Steel-types. Imagine Mega Metagross using Shift Gear D: D:

Heat Crash on heavier Fire-types like Primal Groudon.

Lovely Kiss on... Fairy-types maybe?

Yeah i really wish Groudon had more fire type physical moves. Imagine Sacred Fire!

It's funny how my topic talking about a specific signature move turned into signature moves people think would be good on other pokemon. Well it is interesting though.

Sorry, I thought that was the point of the thread with Electrify being your example :(

When the initial topic is so limited, it's natural for people to find connections to other topics. That's what a discussion thread is all about. :)

I've been looking at the move Noble Roar lately, which is Litleo/Pyroar's signature move. It's not a terrible move, especially considering they learn it at level 15, but I wish it was at least a damaging move or that it had a better effect and they learned it later. As it is now it feels kind of pointless as a signature move since it loses usefulness pretty quickly.

I'd definitely love to see Shift Gear used on more Steel-types. Metagross is basically a robot - I don't see how it can't use it.

And I agree with @winstein; about Night Daze. It really should be more spread out and make Zoroark use his STAB move freely when he's in disguise.

True. Besides which, Night Daze is still one of only three special dark-type moves (since the physical/special split), and the only one of those not available as a TM (or tutor move in B2W2)
