I was just wondering with the release of HG and SS, will there be more remakes like going on and on with Gen V being Gen III remakes and Gen VI with Gen IV remakes and so on, I mean that's going to get old :(

and also hi to every one :D

and also will there be a 3rd remade game cause i WAS looking forward to Waterblue if it would have come out but it didn't maybe cause of DS

a thread with a spelling mistake in the title is never gonna go far :p haha

i dunno, i kinda like the whole one original/one remake idea, i think it works :) and it's pretty easy to guess that if theres a gen 5 there will be a sapphire/ruby remake

We don't need discussion about Gen. III remakes in the HGSS section. Because it's for HGSS.

oops yea sry :D hehe

umm well did it cause it kinda relates to the event kinda

Honestly, I think the very idea of Gen III remakes is a completely retarded idea.

I'd rather see all new games from here on out.

Not likely. I remember Nintendo saying after FR/LG that there wouldn't be remakes of Gold and Silver. The only reason HeartGold and SoulSilver are being made is due to high demand for them. I don't think the demand is nearly as high for Ruby and Sapphire remakes, since if you want to play those games, you can just play them. Since the games use flash to back up save data, the worst thing that's going to happen when you play them is the clock no longer working.

Wouldn't count on Gen 3 remakes. One, because of what Jeff said, those games aren't going anywhere... and two, because now with the GS DS every gen is linked on the DS. (not so much the DSi though, thanks to no GBA slot)

Hmmm.....as more and more people are getting the DSi, a couple of years time the DS will be dead. We wouldn't be able to link FRLG/RSE to the DSi. Perhaps Nintendo will release them on Virtual Console...but no remakes.

True but we can safely assume Nintendo's next handheld will be backwards compatible with the DS cards so the gens will still be linked, but more loosely.

Remakes would still not be imperative, but would appear slightly more practical.

You never know, it may happen as gen III has dead or "dry" batteries, as time based events like berries and other events like tides and Mirage Island wont take place as they use the battery. There is a tutorial on a fix, though. And it isnt as severe as gsc batteries dieing.

That reminds me- my LG game freezes now. I've only had it for about four years.

No, because they can still be played with DS Lite and they're in the "advanced level" or something like that. Sure, RBY could be played with GBA, but they had old graphics etc. RSE looks decent enough.

Its far too early to be discussing this, lets wait at least until the remakes have been out a while please. My Sapphire and FR games still work fine and I can still play them now, so lets wait

I don't think it was the graphics, I believe it was moreso the connectivity. If RGBY and GSC could still transfer to the third generation in some way, FR/LG would not have been necessary.

No

Because, as what other people have said, they are still there, playable.

And, you can catch all the pokemon on d/p

I'm not sure how they could pull out new games rather than Remakes unless these new games have the "What-If" factor because aside from changing facts around or create endless number of weird regions like Orre with a particular legendary being the star, I'm not sure what they could do. I don't know could they mix it up and have the starters of one region be Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, and Mudkip and have Mewtwo and Raqyquaza be the legendary Pokemon. Because without remaking games, I'm not sure what they can do. And I'm not talking about now though I mean in the far off future.

If it does happen (which is doubtful) it won't be until at least the sixth generation, since Gen. V is looking like it'll also be on the DS, and that wouldn't be enough of a graphical update. The only significant thing that Gen. III would gain in remakes is the physical/special split, and while that's an important change, it's not nearly enough to justify remakes.

Really? That;s interesting. Where did they say that? Because obviously, they were either lying or wrong.

I really doubt they said anything like that. Nintendo never gives such definite answers about anything concerning their main franchises - it's part of why Nintendo fans are so frustrated much of the time. XD
