A) Change the artstyle: (something similar to the stereotypical modern shojou and shonen style)
-Defining and touching it up a bit
-Drastically change everything

or

B) Somehow input more mature and adult-oriented themes: (applies to both the original Japanese, and whatever language dub you watch)
-More violence
-More sexual or romance themes
-Both

or

C) Both above.

Everything else would remain intact however. Things like main characters, same storyline, and the usual. But... Would you still watch it?

If only A happened, I would still watch the anime (I'm referring to the dub by the way, since I don't watch the Japanese version).

However, if either B or C happened, I wouldn't watch it anymore.

I don't care much for violent anime. Because if they have violence, that usually means they have a lot of blood in them (such as Hellsing - I don't like those kinda anime series).

Both sexual and romantic themes are okay, though, and I don't mind them much.

I just don't like anime series that are overflowing with violence and/or have a lot of blood. I know that many anime fans like those kinda genres. But personally, I hate that kinda stuff, which is why I never watch anime series that have those elements in them. X_X

It has plenty of violence and inuendo as is.

It would be nice if we had a little more cerebral plot (they had a good thing going with Team Magma and Team Aqua until they butchered the ending). Something other than Jessie and James getting blasted off in EVERY episode. It doesn't have to be too deep but just different.

As for a style change. Nah, it's fine the way it is. If anything, I'd like them to return the more colorful and stylistic style of the earlier years. Jessie looks much better with a red comet than the faded magenta she has now.

You know, before I got used to the digital animation colors, I would've totally agreed with you. But now I'm too used to the clarity of the animation.

One of my absolute favorite things about the Pokemon anime is it's art style. It's simplistic and unique. I almost never see any other anime with this simplicity except for stuff like Digimon, Megaman or to stretch, Lucky Star.
No, I'd be much less attracted to it. I'd still watch it but I wouldn't be as happy. Besides I like Shinji the way he is.

I dont like violent anime. I'm more into the Haruhi/Azumanga Daioh/Lucky Star type of show. I dont like shows like Bleach or Naruto and Inuyasha's violence turns me off.

I'd like it if the show got more Pokemopolis-y or just a bit more riske. It's getting pretty good, especially after that awesome Mismagius episode.
So basically, the show is fine as it is.

I could go for B, only without the violence. I don't watch the anime that much, but when I do I often find it hard to get through a whole episode. And if A happend, it probably wouldn't effect me.

I'd go for C! I would love it if the series had a more mature theme! I would like it if the series became more like Pokemon Special, and if Ash looked more like Red. 16 y.o. Red=awesome.

I'd leik C plz.

I would love for a drastic change for the series. Not so much that it's the Godawful YGO-GX type, but something really...Well, I'd smething more muture via the manga's storyline. I'm not saying there being excessive violence, but no friggin painfully cold-cut episode plots.

A nice overall plot would be good, besides the Badges/Ribbons quest.

It looks like DP is atleast trying with various storylines being set up...

You mean...go back to being an actual anime? Forget still watch it. If they did that, I'd start watching it again.

I think it would be cool if they used an art style like CLAMP's or that of Haruhi Suzumiya or Lucky Star. Heck, even Ono's manga style or Special would be awesome.

As for the plot thing, I agree about being a bit more mature, but not violence. I hate anime with too much blood and fight and I wouldn't want Pokemon to turn into another DBZ or Naruto.

Indeed, I liked Ono's art style as well. Especially the way he drew Misty =P. Unedited of course.

yeah, Ono's black-haired Kasumi kicked ass. Why'd he have to change her to the anime's design all the sudden in volume 2?

I won't deny that the current artstyle has its charms, but I do admittedly prefer the (albeit generic) artstyle seen in a majority of anime (which is especially nice given how fluid and vivid most Japanese animation has gotten post-2000, especially the shows by Kyoto Animation... Pokemon, on the other hand, uses a style that's gone relatively unchanged for a decade, with about the only major changes being CG coloring and an abuse of pretty crappy CGI). One thing that particularly bugs me about Pokemon is hair... rarely does hair bounce or flow or otherwise show signs that the character doesn't have a stiff mat on top of their head (though I do like how they've manage to make Hikari's hair flow the way it does). On the other hand, this sort of animation style is probably just something that comes with Sugimori's artwork. Had they based the designs on some other source, like Ono's manga (as was previously brought up), there's no doubt in my mind that it'd resemble most of the other anime out there.

As for your hopes for a more mature story.... don't count on it. Just stick with fanfics and doujinshi if you want violence, sex, and such (insert plug for the doujins I'm gradually working on here ^^).

Yes, the artstyle in pokemon blows, the girls eyes are 2 appart! it makes them look retarded (literaly). the details are so dull that it almost looks like a regular american cartoon

B) i guess, probably, i dont watch much tv anyway though

I like Pokemon's animation. The fact that it isn't the same as everywhere else. Like Yugioh's is unique.

The plot is okay. Each episode has it's own. I sometimes like an anime where you can pick it up after awhile and still not be lost. DP is mor eplot oriented then the others has been.

There could be mor einnuendo, but I think the seire sis fine the way it is.

I'd say B, I'd love more risque episodes, and i wouldn't mind a bit of violence and blood, not a lot, there's a picture of a super saiyan style Ash with cuts and blood in someone's sig, it's a really good picture, i'd like to Ash end up like that (minus super saiyanisms) now and again, because he usually (in movies) ends up sacrificing himself for someone, if he looked like that after sacrifice it would instantly add a lot of depth to the scene. but thats about it, i would want excesive bordering-on-mentallism violence/blood/gore.

heh heh heh...

(this sig is pretty old,pre-movie 9 even...)

I actually wouldn't some of that. :p

But yeah,Pokemon already has a great mythology,it just needs a good story to go along with it.D/P's story was pretty cool,so we know the writers have some good material to work with. Now let's just hope they don't f*ck it up.

The art style has already changed.Pikachu is looking cuter than ever!!Kawaii!!*fangirl squeal*WAHH!!-*cough*..Umm..soorry.[Warning:random sorry qoute ahead]Pichu!I would like more anime stuff.Like more couple things[the closest thing we have to canon couples are the people who have crushes on main charcters and/or contest shipping...],more detail on the pokemons lifes, more pokemon gender hints...Yea,that's all I want *But it can't compare to MY naruto!!*

They should also kind of have Ash rotate his Pokemon a little bit. I understand the fresh start and all, but damn, I would love to see Muk in a battle again.
