Who Would You Cast in it?

Pick some actors to play different characters. I's just for fun. Try to include a reference and why you think they would be good.

Ash Ketchum: Hugh Panaro. I saw him as the Phantom in New York. He reminded me a bit of Ash. Really kinda hyper active it seemed. Full of energy. Currently the lead in Lestat.

Misty: no ideas now. Kristin Chenowith of Wicked?

Brock: Niel Patrick Harris. Kicked butt as Toby in Sweeney in concert.

Tracy: no ideas now

May: no ideas now

Max: no idea now

Jessie: If Patti LuPone was younger, I'd say her. But she's too old now. so, no ideas now. Idina Menzel? She might be good. Maureen in RENT movie and the original Elphaba in Wicked.

Giovanni: Gerard Butler. Dark and attractive. Sings roughly well enough. Phantom of the Opera movie....*sweatdrop*

Professor Oak: Franc D'Ambrosio. He played the Phantom for 6 years and also played Michael's son in The Godfather 3. I saw him in concert and was blown away. He also has an Oakish face shape to him.

Delia Ketchum: Stephanie D'Abruzzio. Original Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut from Avenue Q. I can't listen to the soundtrack without her sounding like Delia to me. She just sounds perfect!
 
My cast would include:

Ash Ketchum:
Misty: Sutton Foster [from Thoroughly Modern Millie]. She's got the 'cute and spunky' tomboyish quality that would make for a good Misty.
Brock:
May: Lindsay Lohan.
Jessie:
James: Eric Stuart. Why not?
Giovanni: Yeah, Gerard Butler would work in this role.
Delia: Michelle Pfeiffer. She has musical roots [Grease 2 and The Fabulous Baker Boys] and she can easily convey motherly love.

I came up blank on a couple of them, but Lucy Liu would be a kick-ass Jessie. I don't know if she can sing, though. Maybe Sarah Jessica Parker instead?
