Just something I was wondering about. That if important trainers, or at least some of them, nicknamed their Pokemon, what do you supposed they'd call them? I mean, you can judge the personality of another trainer by what they nickname their Pokemon. I don't know, just something I thought up.

Acutally, They would probably follow the canonosity of the manga; i.e. naming Wallace's Luvdisc...Elizabeth, I think?

Hah hilarious answers! Don't bring any Rhydons against Pikachu now.

I think a lot of the girl trainers would nickname their pokémon, ESPECIALLY Whitney. She'd name her precious Miltank "Moo-Moo" or... uh, Bessy? and Clefairy would be something lame and girly. Maybe "Princess".

no. those are "Speed EVs"
XD BEST EVER.

I've always liked to believe that most people do name their pokemon; it's just not visible to you during battles because that would just confuse anyone who's not familiar with every species name. (I've come up with names for a few characters' pokemon, but none of them are trainers.)

Judging by the names of pokemon you see in contests, it looks like most of the nicknames wouldn't be all that great, though!

Cool trainers would probably use 1337 (leet) speak.
Like IzDaBest11!
Fisherman would name their Pokémon after real world fish.
Aroma Ladies would name them after famous parfumes.

That's all I got for now.

I think that your rival's starter should get a nickname. THat would be cool.
