If you were called to be a gym leader in the 5th generation game what kinda gym would you be?
I would open a water style gym and my strongest pokemon would be my Poliwrath!

I'd have me a Ground-Type Gym. I'd use Torterra, Camerupt, and Whiscash with Camerupt being my strongest.

I would have a Fire-type gym and use Ninetales, Houndoom, and have Charizard as my strongest

I would have an ice type gym with Piloswine, Glalie, Weavile and have Walrein as my strongest.

I'd run a skill-based gym in the Orange Islands somwhere that focused on raising sweepers. I would also have a breeding
center, and maybe focus on raising Water types, with Croconaw as my buddy.

My team would be:

Croconaw :lx159:
Dewgong :lx087:
Golduck :lx055:
Lapras :lx131:
Vaporeon :lx134:
Ludicolo :rs021:

I would have a few choices
a rainbow gym with a whole bunch of types
grass forest gym with a Tropius
and some more
but I like the idea of rainbow

I'd run a Ghost-type gym, with a Gengar, a Spiritomb, a Shedinja, a Drifblim, a Rotom, and some awesome 5th generation pokemon. If not, then I guess i'd have Froslass or Dusknoir.

ah! I'm glad my post got some replies!
going off my earlier post heres my whole team:
Poliwrath (strongest)
Blastoise
Golduck
and then mabey a psyduck to start off the battler you know like a pokemon to test your opponents abilities first...

I think I'd like to be a Grass gym with the battle order of Exeguttor, Victreebel, Cherrim, and Jumpluff, plus a Slowbro at the end to through people off.

A gym based in whatever new type is introduced, like Steel in generation 2.

but in case there's no other type, dragon or ice. Probably would use several of new introducted pokemon anyways.

I think I'd be Dark, Ground/Rock, or Normal.

Dark because, well, it's always appealed to me- I mean, for the most part the attacks play on emotions, and that just seems pretty messed up but fascinating. Taunt, Torment, etc. But even then, some of the dark pokemon we've seen are really good guys- like the Houndoom that protected Togepi back in Johto. Houndoom would be my strongest, I just love those pokemon.

Ground/Rock because I've a weird fascination for earth, tunnels, geology, etc. Just there aren't many pokemon I like of that type. My strongest would be Marowak.

Normal because I love most of the normal pokemon, and because they're more unpredictable attack-wise and just have the fighting weakness. I wouldn't go with the obvious Blissey choice, and instead probably Kangaskhan, since it's a favorite of mine.

On a different note, I could go with a different type of gym. I've thought of a gym having pokemon that depend on Friendship levels for evolution- Lucario, Lopunny, Blissey, etc- or a gym with only pokemon that have two types.

A gym based on the Normal type or Psychic type, and my strongest would be Porygon-Z or Gallade.

Orignally, I'd have opened up a Water-theme gym at my alma mater complete with a swimming pool suitable for underwater combat and demolitions. Nowadays(post-Katrina), I'd go for Ground and Rock, though I still like Water-type pokemon. Either way, my pokemon would all be dragon/reptile/serpent-based(though some of those Ground-types are of the Mineral egg group).

I would own a gym full of ghost type pokemon. I would have a Banette, Sableye, Gengar, Spiritomb, and a Lucario to throw people off.
