...what would you pick?

There's lots of bad shows currently on-air, but which one show would you want to cancel? Dumb reality rubbish, a show past it's sell-by-date, or just a show you find annoying.

I'm gonna have to go with the most disappointing show still on the air, the big one, The Simpsons.

The Simpsons used to be an utterly classic show, every new episode was fresh with ideas, wit and commentary. We grew to love The Simpsons and Springfield's residents, but now I think they need to be buried.

Simpsons has lot a lot of it's charm and humour. It wasn't always a show where every celebrity suddenly found them self in Springfield, it was about the The Simpsons and the huge cast of characters we got introduced to. I don't think that The Simpsons has anything new to say, they've done everything, some of it twice, and there's nothing left to explore.

In 2015, the bad seasons heavily outweigh the good, for a good deal of fans, as soon as we see that HD intro we know to turn off. The series has changed just as we have throughout the years, but for a lot of us we didn't want the Simpsons to change - we wanted reliable comedy. I've seen my favourite episodes countless of times and I'll still laugh at them because they're timeless, whereas with post-season 9 episodes, I find myself not laughing as much or at all, disengaged and disinterested. The characters aren't how they used to be, the animation is flawless and robotic, the Simpsons is no longer the same, consistently fantastic show it used to be prior to 2000.

The Simpsons should be cancelled.

I would be very annoyed if they cancelled the Simpsons. The last episode they aired (last Sunday) made me a laugh a lot. I've been a fan of the Simpsons ever since I was a kid and having stuck with it I honestly think nothing has changed other than the quality of the animation. The jokes are still as good as ever. I think the reason people bad mouth it these days is because they are sick of it in general. Any show that's been around for a long time starts to disappoint people eventually because the enjoyment of anything wears off after a certain amount of exposure to it.

I think it's as good as it ever was but people just have less time for it. I'm not one of those people (yet, anyway)

Shows i'd cancel? The Only Way Is Essex, Geordie Shore, Top Gear to name just a few.

I knew you'd come in to defend The Simpsons :B

TOWIE and Geordie Shore are obvious, by why Top Gear? I don't really care about cars, but I like the road trips and challenges that they do. Clarkson is an arsehole, but I do think he adds a lot of character and laddishness to the series, that without Top Gear just wouldn't be as enjoyable to the non-Auto junkie.

I'd cancel every reality show in existence, but if it had to only be one... I'd choose the one that'd financially damage as many a-holes as possible.

SpongeBob and The Fairly OddParents, just to piss off Nickelodeon.

I'd also cancel all reality shows and all soap operas.

The vast majority of stuff airing on Animal Planet right now. If I had to pick just one, it would be Treehouse Masters, because why the hell is a channel that's supposed to be about animals airing a show about tree houses?

I saw a commercial for that show and thought it was interesting for, say, THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL. Then they showed it was going to be for Animal Planet. Not one animal in that commercial, either. It really makes me sad.

There's a ton of shows I would love for them to pull off the air, but if I had to choose, I'd choose The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice. While I cannot stand any reality shows, Donald Trump is a douchebag of the highest caliber on TV and in real life.

Power Rangers.

But seriously, I echo sentiments regarding Simpsons and Spongebob Squarepants.

Ha you know me well then :b

A few reasons why I dislike Top Gear. I totally understand liking cars and liking driving in them (particularly at high speed) I totally fail to see how it's entertaining to watch 3 (for the most part) very unlikeable men do it. I hate Clarkson and I also don't like Hammond. The other guy is just kind of there. Cars as a subject is boring and watching it for a few minutes is so mind-numbing to me. Also, the fact that the biggest dick in the universe (Clarkson) dominates the show is just enough to make me physically wont to throw a brick at my TV.

Definitely all reality shows. Burn them, I say.

And all of Disneys live action kids shows should be cancelled, I don't know how kids can even enjoy them.

Dog with a Blog? Ew.
Austin and Ally? .....Wut?
Liv and Maddy? Gross.
The Next Step? I think there were better child actors in The Last Airbender movie.

Seriously, the only Awesome TV show Disney has got going for it is Gravity Falls.

The Real Housewives of Melbourne (and any of those Real Housewives shows, they AREN'T REAL HOUSEWIVES AT ALL). In fact, all reality shows (except The Mole and The Amazing Race) should be cancelled as they are terrible. Oh, and A Current Affair, as it is NOT current affairs, it's just garbage disguised as current affairs. I have been praying for ACA's axing since Today Tonight got cancelled (at least here in Victoria).

There are so many shows I dislike, many which were already mentioned above, but if I had to choose any show to cancel, it would be Teen Titans Go! It's like the second coming of Johnny Test meets Spongebob, it's a disgrace to the origial 2003 series and it takes up a majority of CN's schedule, even shafting Steven Universe in favor of more TTG.

Agreed, what is up with Animal Planet's schedule, it's like MTV at this point, in-name-only, with the only animal related programming now being usually people's pets (which I can go watch videos of cats doing cute things any time on Youtube) or Shark Week, which only comes once a year. Considering I'm someone who loves animals, it makes me feel sad.

Forgot to add: Inside Edition. It's like A Current Affair but with celebs. It needs to go.

Oh and Entertainment Tonight should be cancelled as well; it's become just as bad as the National Enquirer in terms of news. Back in the '80s, it was actually informative and gave you an inside scoop on upcoming movies, television shows, books and albums. Then it started to focus on the "seedier" side of entertainment news and I quit watching. ET really should have been killed back in the 1990s but somehow it's managed to hold on. Put it out of its misery, please.

This thread has made me laugh so much xD

I agree with most of these posts besides The Simpsons, just because... I've never in my life watched it. *dun dun dunnn!*

I would definitely cancel The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Entertainment Tonight, and HLN's The Daily Share. The first two shows I find extremely boring, fake, and pointless to watch, and the other two have become a total joke over the past few years. ET has always been somewhat ridiculous in terms of what they talk about, like what celebrity posed naked on what magazine and who's the "sexiest" man of the year, but what annoys me the most is when they try to talk about important things and dramatize everything to freak people out. Even the narrators voice is overly dramatic.

HLN has really disappointed me though with The Daily Share. I can remember a time when HLN afternoons talked about real news, important news about serious things going on in the world, with intelligent hosts and people talking about the subject. Now all that's on is The Daily Share, with their annoying hosts in laughable outfits, and all they talk about is what's trending on Twitter, what strangers I don't care about are sharing on Facebook, and how to lose weight in an unhealthy amount of time. Oh, and sometimes they show cute animals. Not to mention The Daily Share is on a loop and just replays the same information all afternoon, so it all becomes boring even if it didn't bore you the first time it was shown.

I know I totally sound like an old person in this post, but the things on TV now just disappoint me. Even comedy shows have become either stupid and boring with a lack of a plot or interesting characters, or so disgusting I lose my faith in humanity.

I have to agree with everyone in regards to this Hollywood news crap. I personally don't watch shows like Entertainment Tonight, and I tend not to watch morning shows like Sunrise or Today, as well as the late morning shows which are full of celebrity gossip and therefore needs to go. Another thing that needs to go is all those infomercials. Here in Australia, there are about 3 channels broadcasting nothing but infomercials twenty-four hours a day (and that is free-to-air alone, disguised as information), as well as a home shopping channel on free-to-air).

I would cancel 90% of CN's programming, as it just isn't all that great anymore. And the fact that they are willing to push aside some of their own shows for re-runs of others outright worries me. This is the network that will be airing Transformers: Robots in Disguise and I fear for that show. I remember all too well how Transformers: Animated was screwed over and I fear that CN may be ready to repeat that yet again.

Honestly, I really wish CN would go away. Most of their shows aren't all that good anymore and their selection is even worse.

Oh, so that's what I stumbled on while in the breakroom at my old Target one day. Yeah, it can go. HN used to air actual news and now it's sensationalized BS that's only there to grab ratings. I really can't even stand watching it for more than five minutes. What happened to reporting actual news instead of useless gossip?

...oh man, do I ever sound old.

Agreed, with the constant showings of Teen Titans Go and Gumball over virtually anything else, with the incredibly mediocre Uncle Grandpa and Clarence being shown more than Adventure Time, Regular Show, or Steven Universe, the schedule has become no different of that of it's competitors Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, being over-saturated with the same shows all the time with little to no variety. Adult Swim is no different, also showing the exact same shows over and over again with no real variety, especially since many of the shows on Adult Swim tend to be stoner comedies and South Park imitators.

You forgot Jessie. That show's worse than all of those shows put together. It's so cliched. I mean, seriously, the white teen girl is always on her cellphone, the black girl adopted from Uganda has a stereotypical sassy "oh no you di-int" attitude, and the Indian boy references India every five seconds and named his pet lizard Kipling. Not to mention they're a creepy resemblance to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's family. (Seriously, if any dumb celebrities should have a reality show, it's those two.) I'd cancel it in a heartbeat.
