If you could have any Pokémon as a pet, what, and why?

As the title asks. Imagine by some weird reality breaking whatever you could have any Pokémon you wanted as a pet. One, though. Which Pokémon would you consider and why?
I'd go for Articuno, Suicune, Entei or Raikou (most likely Suicune).

Suicune most likely because, at my current height/weight, it would be easy to ride on it's back, therefore I could get places extremely fast as well as not having to use public transport (due to the fact I get on buses for free, I tend to get stuck sitting next to strange smelling old ladies).
(Entei and Raikou for the same reason).
Oh, and Suicune could freeze a certain Twatty McTwat I know...

Articuno, because I might possibly be able to ride it even though it's only a little bigger than I am, and even though it's an ice-type it's feathers look snuggly and warm to hug.

Note how none of the ones I want as pets are my favorite Pokémon :B

Totodile- Because he's awesome. He'd also have ice beam to make it easier to deal with those hot summer daysX3

Mew- All Pokèmon in one package+its adorable.

Sure any big bird could work at that but they're not GIANT DRAGON GHOSTS!

I'm not sure, but it'd follow the same style as most of the ones stated above. Something nice and small, but still cool.
 
Arcanine would be much better than a normal dog.

Persian would be much better than a normal cat.

Staraptor is awesome and it could fly me anywhere I needed to go.

Luxray and Absol are just awesome. They look good, and probably feel good to pet :p

Seviper would be much better than an average pet snake. :p

And either Ambipom or Infernape. What can I say, I love monkey Pokémon. ^_^

Yanmega (so I can scare my sisters)

Carnivine (so I can feed it any insects (particularly cockroaches) my house may have)

Arcanine (as a guard dog)
 
Arcanine or Mightyena because I'm a dog person.

Also a Staraptor for flight purposes. Or Dragonite because a pet dragon would be sweet. Or Infernape because having a pet monkey that shoots flames would rock.
 
I could say Charizard, since it's my favorite Pokemon and it could take me places, but...

I'd rather have a Growlithe. A big, cuddly, loyal Growlithe. <3
 
A Mightyena, or maybe an Absol~

An Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon, or Glaceon would make me happy as well...

Possibly a Salamence for flight purposes...

OMG GROUDON WHUT. I'd keep it in my backyard :3
