If you could rename the characters...

If you could rename the characters, or some Pokemon or towns, what would you name them?

This thread of course won't change anything. I just strated it for fun (I love giving names) and to hear your opinion.

Just a kind of Name Rater for characters and other things.

OK, so let's go.

Roark - When I first heard the name I thought it's ugly. But now, I think it's pretty good and creative. My predictional names included Peter and Archer but Roark is OK.

Gardenia - I don't like this name. It's a flower but it doesn't make a good name. I would change it to Lavender.

Maylene - It's a good name but I think that Beatrix would be a better name for her. It begins with 'beat' and when I hear "Beatrix" the first what comes to mind is Beatrix Kido. I love Kill Bill.

Crasher Wake - I'm not good at wrestler names but if I would name him Kamen Puncher (Kamen for short) or Kamen Leader (closer reference to Kamen Rider).

Fantina - It's a strange name. Spectra would sound better.

Byron - It's one of my predicted names (other ones included Terrence and Gordon). But Byron was my favourite. I wouldn't change that.

Candice - Similar situation. Candice was one of my predicted names (other ones included Frost, Frieda and Felice). Candice is OK.

Volkner - Fits. He does look like German. Zander would be good, too but Volkner is ok.

Aaron - Well, it doesn't match him very much IMO. Enzo would be better.

Bertha - Similar to Agatha, and not bad. However, Atara (my predicted name) would be equal good.

Flint - I never liked his English name. But his Japanese name is even worse. Well, when I hear "Flint" I think of Flintstones not the firework flint. I would change his name to Chandler. It sounds cool.

Lucian - Not bad. But sounds like an old grandpa's name. Espen would be a good name from him. It's a scandinavian name which I like. And it starts with ESP.

Cynthia - Good. Fits her. It's hard to choose a good name for character like her (my predicted name was Cadielle, which sounds good for her). Cynthia is OK name.

Cheryl - She's hard to name. Cheryl is quite good.

Mira - Mira is an alike of her Japanese name. Not very creative. Molly would be good name for her.

Riley - Not very good. Arthur would be better because it's (a bit) similar to Aaron/Arlon from Movie 8.

Marley - Marley is an OK name for her. But Chantal or Charlyn would fit her better.

Buck - Another alike. But I like it. Because it reminds me of Kill Bill, too. Buck was the pervert who raped Beatrix while she was in hospital.

Palmer - Name for him should be a bit more... pwnage, more winning. Declan would fit him.

Cyrus - Again, he's hard to name. Cyrus isn't very bad-guyish. But it's quite OK name. It may stay.

Roark reminds me of the crazy crime family from the Sin City franchise. Volkner just sounds fake. If I had to rename Volkner, I'd rename him Franklin. It sounds good, it's a real name, and it has a historical connection to a scientist who investigated electricity. There are so many alternate names for Roark that could be used, there's no need to post them here.

Ever since finding out that another translation of Cyrus is "Koresh", I've been fine with that name (King Cyrus was refered to as Koresh in the Bible, according to Wiki).

Roark needs changing, though. I know "Rocky" is probably overdone (and isn't that Brock's German name? Or is that Rocko?), but hey.

Cole would probably be a better name for Roark...but whatever.

I don't like Volkner...sounds a little bit like Falkner. I shouldn't complain though, because I can't think of anything better.

Gardenia gets to me... I hate it. Flora would be nicer...

Lol, Flint should be named Ronald McDonald.

All the other names are alright.
