...and tell people what happened in 2008, do you think they'd believe you?
 
A year? I think people might believe it--remember, the Iowa caucuses were at the beginning of January, '08. Obama was starting to accrue momentum. Travel back three years and tell these stories? No way.

I would've believe the India bombings. But I'm just so used to bombings that they simply fail to surprise me in any case.
 
They wouldn't believe the gas prices would be less than $3.00 in some places. They wouldn't believe mervyns, Lehman Bros., Fanniemae, Freddiemac's financial problems. They wouldn't believe McCain picked Palin.

Not only are gas prices below $3/gal in some places, they're actually below $1.50, but yeah I get what you're saying, even $3 would be a shock to them. Of course the bubble had to burst sooner or later, you know, what goes up and all.
 
If someone had told me about how low the petrol prices were going to be in 2008 I would have laughed.
 
I want to know if anyone would've believed some of the celebrites that died this year. Maddie Blaustein and Mark Priestly come to my mind. Heath Ledger would get the biggest laugh of disbelief, though.
 
Like I always say, McCain could and perhaps would have won the election if he didn't pick Palin.
 
To me it would've been a tougher election if he didn't choose Palin.
