If you ran the anime, what would you do? Would each region have it's own protagonist (like the manga and the games), or would you have one protagonist go through every region (like the anime)? As for me, I would kept Ash around, but try to have some sort of story going.

If you are going with the anime route, what Pokemon would you give Ash? Would you give him what he got in the anime?

If each region will have it's own protagonist, what character(s) would you use?

I would go with the Manga and Games route - keeps the anime fresh. I don't know about characters (Dawn obviously) but they would have to be linked to the region somehow. I think the anime would be less predictable, maybe more interesting filler episodes. I don't know off the top of my head. I'm sure there is other stuff I would change.

I'd make it a happy medium between the games/manga/anime. It would follow the same protagonists for an equivalent of a Pokémon generation, and then when a new region/Gen needs exploration, focus on a new cast. Maybe every 5 or so years I'd have an epic crossover between all of the past and present heroes (for my fellow Digimon fans, think something similar to Xros Hunters' finale, only a bit more buildup for the prior few episodes).

Oh, this could be a long list. Let's see....if I ran the Anime.

...

1: Re-establish 4-Kids level dub flow. Use anime to revive New York anime dubbing community under my control and expand into massive animation project to counter Texan influence in animation.

2: Operate two distinct anime productions. One is the regular anime that runs continuously, the other is a older aimed project that changes every so often with cues from the Gundamn franchise. Just as Gundam alternates between U.C stories and other projects, it would probably be 'Adventures adaption', 'Other', 'Adventures adaption', 'other'. One other could be an updated Shudo style adaption led by Uroboshi.

3: Keep Ash around, but have more continuty nods. Find a way to mix the best ideas of each series. Consider exploring having two separate protagonists in next region who alternate whose being followed to split burden of specifc episode types (new trainer can have 'how to catch' and 'how to evolve' episode while Ash has more time to show experience), with their paths intersecting often enough for plot and other.

4: If have Orange/Decolore esc arc, have it be like Orange/Frontier to give Ash victories

5: While having Ash confirm he isn't 10, do not specify age or final pairing. Consider using one of side projects in between Adventures adaptions to explore individual pairings a la 'Married Life with Archie'. Possibly have one hint at polygamy just to mess with people.

6: Have Ash's father show up as a non-Giovanni antagonistic force Ash defeats.

I would make te anime with Ash further till the end and gets Master title for all regions in all region tournament.
Before that would make him win atlest one tournament of a region and see if he can get the tittle in a other region and how he and other would react to his looses.

I would check what okemon were how many time used from the past.
Would make a seperate shorter anime about ash past rivals and other characters in diffrent battles with past and future gym leaders that could have other outcomes.

I would make sure that while Ash would go through some character development it wouldn’t feel like the whole world is just trying to put him down

I would also have Ash’s Pokémon team not mostly consist of small Pokémon

I doubt they'll ever do this but I'd like to see a series that's purely adventure. There'd still be battles but they'd be part of the adventure rather than related to any tournament events. I'm thinking something along the lines of Mysterious Cities of Gold, which I see as the quintessential kids' adventure show. Perhaps there is a mysterious city of gold hidden in that Guyana-based region....

I'd make some very clear notes on what NOT to do for the North American localization and I'd make sure it was contractual. For starters,

- I don't care how much money it costs, do NOT change any of the music!
- Lenora gets to keep her gardening apron because she works in a green house and it makes sense! But she removes it during battles like a badass!
- No name-changing for any food.
- No removal of any Japanese text.
- No character-name changes that weren't present in the original game.
- No footage is to be removed whatsoever.

Basically I'd make sure they follow the guidelines of pretty much every anime currently being released.

If there's a scene/episode from the Pokemon's point of view, I would have the Pokemon's VAs just talking normally rather than having the damned narrator translating everything. It would be way cuter too, and would really allow each Pokemon's character to shine, I think.

If I ran the anime...

  • I would wrap up Ash's overarching storyline by having him win the Alola Pokémon League. The next region, the first Switch region, would come with a three-year time skip:
    • I have an idea for a launching story that would involve Ash on a world tour of sorts. After a trip to Kanto, he would go to Hoenn, where he would reunite with May, Max, and Serena. (No serious romantic tension involved. Sorry, shippers.) Clemont and Bonnie would also be joining him on the trip, mainly for Serena.
    • Max would find Ralts (from Do I Hear a Ralts?), and he and Ash would have a battle. Max would lose, but he wouldn't be totally hopeless. Ash suggests Max go with him to the new region, which Norman consents to, and Max agrees to. Ash makes the same offer to Bonnie, and she agrees. Serena remains in Hoenn (Contests champion, rival of May), while Clemont returns to Kalos. Bonnie would have Dedenne, but cannot realistically start with Squishy.
    • Bonnie and Max would be co-protagonists for the new region, with Ash in a Brock-like advisory role, and maybe a local twerp as well. After the first region, Ash would return to either Kanto or Alola, and Bonnie and Max would go on to the next region, where they will find a new third twerp.
    • Max would, at some point, get his own Pikachu, so even with Ash gone there will still be the franchise mascot.
  • The TRio would continue to appear as following antagonists, occasionally facing down the local evil team as they have in the past.
  • I would change up the advertising model a bit to enable instituting an instadub, so the English version episodes debut the weekend immediately following the Japanese version.

There's no reason not to make changes that would be applicable in the localization of the game.

Oh, and a big thing: I'd make the league arcs longer.

Seriously, I feel the things are too short and having longer ones could do a lot for trimming filler.
As much as I'd love it as well, I think the main issue is that the league is very animation intensive and would take up a lot of resources.

One thing I want is a Sun & Moon movie. That's all I'd do.

Also one major change I would have made would be for Ash to lose the Indigo League solely because of poor choices made in battle, not because Team Rocket attacked him a million times and not because Charizard was being a douche.
