If you were a shiny Pokémon, which one would you be?

Why is there such a fixation with shinies? most of them look awful compared to the origionals

Mudkip. Because mudkips are just more awesomer when they are purple.
 
Either Shiny Metagross (Silver and Gold, I pwn you XD) or Luxray (Gold and Black... beat that)
