What things would you change and what things would you keep the same in the games?

These changes you would make (or lack of, if you're wanting to keep a lot of things the same) can be for absolutely anything within or related to the games.

Go nuts.

Give Pokemon the appropriate moves that fit them/they need in order to do well in battles.

BLOW UP THE WORLD!!!

No not really. To be honest, the only thing I would do different is like, every 3 Generations or so, I would push to make a game with all the regions in it. But thats all...
Or is it?

I think I would:
1) Give the character designs more of an anime/Japanese style than they already are.
2) Make the routes longer and the cities bigger.
3) Make the Badge quest less of a priority.

I would probably change that electric type moves are super-effective against water type pokemon. I thought about it and I don't see how electricity can hurt water.

Remove all shiny checks- I see no reason why event Pokemon shouldnt be shiny
Make it so you get Event Pokemon over DLC in order to actually keep them secret
Try to find someway to make the games unable to be hacked
Make more games that have more things to do postgame, beating the Elite 4 shouldnt be the end, I might include a second region more often for more content.

I'd rearrange the whole organisation, lowering the budget for Pokémon games by rereleasing older games with GB graphics. I'd then put all the left over funding into the development of a much-needed Pulseman sequel

I think they made it that way because if you are in water and if someone shoots electricity through it, you will be killed.

-For starters, I would rebuild the GTS for gods sake, it is in desperate need of it.
-I'd make the Pokémon League a tournament instead of a simple E4+Champ
-I'd increase the number of and the length of sidequests and post-game

I would establish only 1 rule: If it's an idea from a fan on the internet that will supposedly make the games "WAY better", ignore it.

(Not saying that there aren't some good ideas out there, but most of them aren't. And I think that after so many years of success, Game Freak has shown they know what they're doing.)

Hmmm, Make a game where you could choose from any of the starters from
gen 1 to 5, also have it where the HMs could be learned as additional abilities
rather than moves, each pokemon could have 5 ability slots.

I'd make HMs erasable in the field, make Last Resort not fail if it's the Pokemon's only move, and a number of other things that I can't think of right now.

If I worked for Game Freak, I'd make it so Porygon2 gets an alternate evolution named Porygon3!
Another thing I'd do would be changing the region so you could explore any region in every pokemon game, making it possible to collect 42 badges. (I think there are 42 total?)

Retcon out Gen. V

Remove Abilities

Include a (necessarily difficult) way to evolve by-trade Pokemon without trading

Go back to 2D-only, top-down graphics

Remove all in-battle movement except for moves and the introduction of the battle

Bring back ALL-CAPS naming

Provide an option to skip the introduction

I'd make sure the 10-year-old female protagonists aren't dressed like sluts, for starters. >> That would be it, in fact.

Gen. V was awful - worse than the sum of relevant complaints below, but you can at least get the picture.

Abilities have always felt unnecessary and annoying. I don't like them.

I like to play the games on my own; I don't like online features. I only have two friends who play and I don't want to bother them about helping me.

I prefer the simplistic graphics to the new style, particularly the most recent games (it hurt my eyes and made me feel ill). Whereas with simple sprites and pixel art the games always had a unique character and internal consistency, the most recent generations feel as though they've lost this in an attempt to "update" things.

The new sprite animation also hurt my eyes and made me feel ill. At the very least there needs to be an option to disable this.

ALL-CAPS is part personal preference. It did, however, make skim-reading dialogue easier.

Introductions are annoying, especially in BW where it's terribly long and tedious. Seeing it once is enough. It's a particular obstacle to re-rolling starters, too.

I would:

Change the base stats/abilities/typing of Pokemon to improve them

Break a lot of the repetiveness started by Gen III

Raise the level curve of the games

Make the E4 the final challenge in the games rather and having what would be post game content before them. They'd still be re-matchable, though.

Create Red/Blue/Green remakes but have an extremely ambiguous marketing campaign that made them look like they were going to be Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald remakes.

Hmm, can't think of anything else at the moment.
