I'm Shocked!!!

I didn't think it would be released in North America that soon.

I'm shocked too. Is this available in other colors?

Why is it shocking? It it cause of the price? Not shocking to me, it must be those two cameras that have on there. They made the DS more of a multimedia device now.

What's shocking is the release date. I thought the summer is the earliest it would be released. The price isn't a shock. I knew it would cost around $180.

I was expecting to see this much later in the year, like summer or fall. Hearing it might drop in April is surprising to say the least.

I doubt I'll run out and get one immediately; I've still got a brand new DS Lite I haven't even opened yet.

Really? Just by the date? Weird. I'm not shocked at all.

I don't think I ever want it. Removing backwards-compatibility is a letdown for me, but if they want to move ahead with an SD card I guess that's fine by me.

The date doesn't surprise me at all. It's been confirmed for Spring in Europe, and considering we usually get things before them, it makes sense.

Ditto. Removing the backwards-compatibility was a bit of a let-down for me. But who am I to stand in the way of progress.

Wow, i thought it would release around christmas 2009.

I probably wouldnt want it as it cant play gba games or play MP3s. The price is also very high.

am not that shocked by this, and the price is not that much more than the DS lite. The no GBA slot does not bother me too much, I'll keep my DS lite for that.

I read that IGN does not have 100% confirmation on that, but they are a reputable source. I also thought I read somewhere that DSi was due for release in Europe in March, but thats probably wrong.

Looking forward to how this device turns out! It looks very intriguing to me and I am considering to purchase this if it turns out to be as good as expected. I hope they give us the European release soon!

$179.99? Exchange rate says that's about £122 but they'll probably go up to £129.99 to squeeze a few extra pounds out of us. My DS Lite plays DS games fine, I don't need a more expensive console to do the exact same thing, heh.

Well my DS and my USB connector that likes to "not work" costs about the same price combined, while this will be able to connect to routers with WPA and has a lot of extra features. So for me, its a win (that and I have the old school DS and was planning an upgrade soon)

I don't even play my GBA games anymore so its not much of a loss.

I think the DSi is a fine upgrade. The DSi Ware is a bit disappointing, but otherwise it's totally worth the price Nintendo's charging.

To be fair the DSiWare only came out 3 weeks ago. WiiWare sucked in the first month do

There haven't been any new games added since the service launched, though. No new ones have been announced, either.

At least the Wii Shopping Channel gets an update every week even if the updates themselves aren't always all that good.

I'm won't even complain about the price, it makes sense why.

The fact that they are removing the reverse compatibility could mean that they are intending to have a few games on DSiWare eventually.

But it's decreased battery life, plus it's cameras (only .3 megapixels... that's not really all that good, though it might be okay for the DSi screen) are downs for me. However, I like the browser and the option to play music. But I already have a computer, an mp3 player, and a digital camera, so I think I'll stick with my DS Lite for now, thank you very much. Though if I do get a DSi, completing pokemon games will be a lot easier because I'll be able to trade and battle with/against myself... Hehe.
