IgnitionShipping [FlintXVolkner]

i. adore. ignitionshipping. flint & volkner's bromance is so precious! i always seem to go for pairings where the characters play off each other in an opposites/"bring out the best in each other" kind of way, and these two definitely fit that trope.

oh and this pic isn't very shippy, but it adore it so much that i just had to post it;;

Damn Volk's got a good arm.

Anyway, I support this ship because I can be jelous of Flint. :naughty:

It's a pretty cute ship too.

It just is... :ksmile:

So who do yall think would be more dominate in their relationship?

well first of all, i like to think i've outgrown the awful seme/uke stereotypes that plague yaoi. on that same note, however, i still feel like flint would... "take charge" a bit more often in their relationship. ;p despite his outward composure, volkner is very emotionally immature. he cannot handle losing, or change, or even boredom with the kind of tact that all adults should possess. he is egocentric and (usually) unable to put others before himself, much like a young child is. for that reason, i feel like flint would often be forced to treat him such, being patient with him until he got over his bouts of stubbornness and seclusion. volkner's a darling, but he can be a bit socially awkward (and very hard to understand) at times~

o_o He seems to handling losing just fine. Does he have to be upset at a loss to be considered an "adult" (since he handles his losses better than most adults do)? I thought only children were supposed to be that self-centered (which is something Flint seems more prone to).

I don't see him as entirely immature. His own strengths in battling have turned him off to it. If you're always winning by margins that aren't even challenging, you're only going to keep at it until you finally turn to something else, in an effort to preoccupy yourself. If you can't get your kicks as a GL...no wonder he wanted to go challenge the E4.

(At least he's still in the area to be found; Fantina is a lot harder to pin down when you want to challenge her. Who's more irresponsible?)

That said, while I'm pretty sure Flint's got the reigns on this relationship, physically, it's either's game.

hmm, yes, i'll concede this point to you... sometimes my mind fills in blanks to better suit my needs when i'm unsure of things. tis a terrible habit =w=;;
now that i think about it, volkner almost seems like he wants to lose, just to shake things up a bit... or at the very least he wants a challenge with the danger of losing intact.

but i still stand by the "egocentric" point i made. anyone who shuts off the power to an entire city simply due to their own boredom is just a little bit selfish ;)
