I'm just wondering if there are any ikarishippers in this forum because I noticed that there is no thread for this ship. If none, I'll just ask your opinion about this ship. What do you think about this ship?

I have to admit even though it won't happen in the anime I think it's my favorite
 
I haven't really decided if I like this shipping yet. But it's cute!
 
I like the fanarts too like the one with Dawn,Paul,Chimchar and Piplup
 
This is a ship that is slowly beginning to grow on me. I can't explain why. Then again, as a diehard Harry Potter fan, I've always been attracted to love/hate relationships such as Draco/Hermione. Paul/Dawn is a bit similar to that. Maybe Dawn can soften Paul up in ways Ash can't.

...Okay, that came out odd. But you know what I mean. Ash is all headstrong and is quick to fight with Paul; Dawn is also headstrong, but she also has a bit of an admiration for Paul that could enable her to touch his compassionate side.

But IDK.
 
I'm a big fan of this ship.

I mean, they are so opposite, and you know what they say about opposites...they attract.
 
Im sort of an Ikarishipper, but more of a Franticshipper than Ikari, but they do look cute together :3
 
I think this shipping makes no sense at all to me.

I see the Dawn/Paul dynamic far more like matter/anti-matter opposites than north/south poles of a magnet opposites. Instead of attracting each other they explode on contact so its best to keep them far apart as possible.

I think Its been made pretty clear that Dawn thinks Paul is a rude uncaring jerk for how he treated Chimchar and how he acts towards Ash.
I don't think Paul is likely to ever significantly change from how he is now. Therefore, I just don't see the whole “Dawn will change him” thing as reasonable or at all interesting.

Another reason this would never work is that Paul is just so rude and cruel to his own pokemon there is no way he'd be nice to someone else's. Eventually he would say/do something cruel to one of her pokemon, and the only touching of his heart she would do after that if she was ripping it from his chest with her bare hands.
 
To be honest, it doesn't make a lick of sense to me either. However, I still find it...somewhat appealing. It'll never make my list of favourites, of course, but after thinking about it I think it's the impossibility of it that I find interesting.

Still. These characters are only around ten years old. Absolutely anything and everything can happen.
