I'm probably going to get teased for this, but what's an Oekekai?

I'm fairly new, and all the fanart posted here is amazing. But I keep reading posts ranting about 'oekaki' (sp?) I clicked on the oekaki forum and saw a bunch of fanart, but what does it mean? Definition wise, I'm asking.

"oekaki" is a Java-based art program that's run in a web browser. You can load the program up, and it'll give you various art tools - such as a pencil, a pen, or a watercolour brush - which you can use to doodle all over the canvas that the program gives you. It works not unlike openCanvas or Photoshop, only a little more basic.

When you've completed a piece, you can choose to upload it to the board, where other people will be able to view it and leave comments, if they so desire.

The word "oekaki" itself means something like "doodle" or "scribble", I believe. :3

Thank you very much. I think I saw some of your artwork. It's really good.:bounce:
