I'm not smart, and can't figure out how to get myself out of the Bot group on Bulbapedia so I can edit Ash's Staravia article. So I need to ask someone here to edit it for me.

I think it's interesting to note that Staravia is Ash's first 2 stage flyer since Pidgeot.

I can't wait till it evolves into Staraptor, if it becomes even half as awesome as Swellow was then Ash will have another powerful Pokemon on its hands.

The problem with Pidgeotto is Ash barely used it for anything other than to pop TR's balloon, and the episode it finally evolved in it was released. And then there was the disappointment that was Noctowl, who barely did anything but 1 Gym battle either. What a waste of a good Pokemon.

Thank god the flying types were finally treated with the respect they deserve with Swellow and now Staravia.

Staravia's actually Stage One. It's base form --> Stage One --> Stage Two.
What I meant was this; look at his fliers over the years. His first came from a two stage line (Pidgey-Pidgeotto-Pidgeot), although he never had the Pidgey. His next two fliers were only one stagers. Starly is, therefore, his first two stage flier since Pidgeot.

Oh! My apologies; I thought that you meant the individual Pokemon, not the evolutionary line.

I'm hoping for a Staraptor too, but at the moment Staravia doesn't seem to be a fantastic battler; it hasn't exactly done a whole lot since it evolved. Still, the same could be said for Taillow (Dewford Gym was just embarrasing), and Swellow turned out good. I just can't wait to see how it uses Close Combat! (if the writers decide to go down that path; Cyndaquil never learned Flame Wheel, did it?)
