THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS! The show that possibly gives Pokemon a run for it's money in amount of commerialism per cubic episode, Yu-Gi-Oh, is getting a 4th series (if you count Season 0 as part of the "series").

Yu-Gi-Oh 5D (Dragon's apparently is the D) is the latest series of the Anime beginning in April.

Some plot details have already been revealed about the series. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's will apparently have a "Sentai" theme, and the main duel disk is a "Bike-Type" Duel Disk. The main character will be 18 and his main card will be Stardusk Dragon, which will be the cover card for The duelist genesis. The series plot is to collect 5 all-powerful dragon type cards. his may mean that Yugioh 5Ds stands for "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Five Dragons".

The Main Character is Fudou, Yuusei. He is a D-Wheel operating Duel Rider, who commands a Red D-Wheel, and is a rare kind of Duelist. He is known for his genius style dueling, his considerable duel skill, and his cool and clever personality.

The kickass, hero type character with per-usual "Y" name and wacky hair.

He is aided by Rua and Ruka, a pair of twins, who make fun of fate. They adore Yuusei, and have been in many tough battles. Rua is lively and blundering, while following his calm and collected sister, Ruka.

The cute and lovable shota characters who ultimately you will come to loath!

The main female is Izayoi, Aki, a girl with the "Super Ability", a power that can only be used through anguish and sadness. However, meeting Yuusei changes things...

Yuusei's rival is "Jack Atlas", who controls the "King", and is known as the "Absolute King of the Riding Duel". He fears Yuusei's Genius-like dueling, which has crushed every battle opponent in his path.

So from what I can tell, Dan Green will eventually be the voice of the lead character. So I need my "Kaiba's voice" alarm again?
 
When I saw the scans of the magazine bits of this, I thought it was an animated Kamen Rider series.
 
Again? GX was enough, this... is just too much. Children's card games on motorcycles?
 
Wow! Um... so I guess GX is ending in Japan then... that is so strange (because in the formula they put it in they could have made yugioh GX last for ever). I hope this leads to better Monster Card designs, the latests have kind of been lacking in creativity (in design).

Also I wonder if this will lead to High Speed Card battling!

Actually, lol! That is an even better idea for a premise: Imagine a world, 2000 years into the future, Children's Card Games are made Illegal, and only one person can fight to change that! Yuusei Fudou! A young boy, rebel with a cause! To revive the Ancient Church of Egyptian Card Games! Go Yuusei! 5DS! (Go-D-S, of course I had to make a pun)

Actually, it's nice that they make this appeal to older fans though, showing that they can drive and duel at the same time. I'm not sure if there is any law against playing card games while driving...

I don't need to be nitpicky, but I think that Eric Stuart does the voice of Seto Kaiba. Dan Green does Yugi and Yami Yugi.

As for 5D's I'm really looking forward to it, I like the new character designs (*Although I'm sure Yuusei's hair is going to give me headaches while trying to draw it*) and I'm sure it'll be a cool show~ I'm gonna miss GX so much, but 5D's is looking to be good, or at least it is to me anyway!

Alright. I'm mildly impressed by battles on motorcycles. I'll check it out ;)
 
I nevr really got into any of the entire YuGiOh series, probably because in 5th grade it brutally murdered both Pokemon AND Digimon (popularity wise), but especially Digimon. And I probably never will. I was expecting it to end with the original series.
 
At least it's not duel Kindergarten. I'd love to see that, though.

It can't be just me--"Jack Atlas" sounds like something 4Kids would make up. So the only logical conclusion is that this guy will be Pre-Dubbed for Our Convienence.
 
I can't get an image of how they're going to do the battles on motorcycles without it looking completely stupid....
 
Wow... um, in that second picture is that a Yugioh card game that scans the cards to play? That is awesome! Definitely something I had wanted to see in future games (PS3 came to mind)

For my Actual feelings on the series, I do like Yuusei's design. It is pretty cool, reminding me of a more serious hero, I think the other characters designs are rather boring though. I really would have preferred this in the classic lone wolf style of Anime plot, with the world against him while he may have friends that are too weak to do anything he is still the people's only hope. I know that it's not though, because more characters with Different Decks sells more cards.
 
That's pretty much what GX has become, since it seems Judai duels every episode now.

Man, I hope 5D picks a style and stays with it. Yugioh DM always knew what it was, but GX was silly and fun for the first two and a half seasons even with some drama, but now the later seasons are just too dramatic.
 
I really enjoyed Season 1, 2, and half of 3 (up till they went to Dark World and like everyone died).

Seems Yuusei's cards are part of a new group called "Tuner Monsters".
- New category: Synchro (frame color: white), placed in the Extra Deck
- New category: Tuner Requirement to Special Summon Synchro monster.
- When the total level of the appropriate Tuner monster and the other monsters on the field matches the Synchro monster's level, it can be Special Summoned by sending the appropiate monster to the Graveyard

I guess this is one of the monsters of that Synchro type I guess it is like that season of Yugioh where one monster card represented the player or something. (I guess, I'm not really sure) I like the design of this one it's cool, still I think YuGiOh needs some kind of break (or the Artists do).

That's the advantage of Pokemon TCG over the YuGiOh TCG in design, Pokemon can have the same monsters get designed and redrawn over and over and make brand new cards from them, but for the most part in Yugioh you have to design a new monster.
