I thought there was a bug report forum on this board, but I can't find it now. Perhaps I was mistaken. If this topic is in the wrong forum, please do feel free to move it. Anyway, so this may be a common problem, so if it was addressed already, I apologize, but I recently received a notification that someone had quoted a post of mine... only, the quote isn't by me... and there are no posts by me in the topic specified.

This is what it says in the quotes list...

But when you go to the actual post...

Pictured: Not me.

It goes to a post that was not only not made by me, but is also in a topic that I have never posted in. Chances are, this is just a minor fluke (or a sign that God loves to play with my mind) that will just go away if we ignore it like all of life's problems, but I figured I should ask about it before something crazy happens and I inadvertently get removed from the database... which has happened to me on other forums before. That and in case it might be useful for preventing such an occurrence in the future.

Wow... does that happen only when I'm quoting? is it happening only with that one specific quote or every time I quote someone? 0__o
I honestly have no idea why this happens... I didn't do anything other than simply normally quoting the post I'm replying to like I always do and pretty much everyone is doing 0__o
Weird...

Some testing seems to imply it is caused by quoting a post containing a quote by that specific member whose user name is nothing else but numbers.

I received the very same notification you're talking about. And now I got "quoted" again because someone quoted you, @Piplup; How in the world did you manage to do that?

EDIT: Nevermind, Soulweaver just explained the possible reason.

Yeah, I just got another notification. Same topic, different post, but even more interestingly, it leads me to a page where the person in question who supposedly quoted me isn't even on it! It says Deity quoted me on page 19, but I don't even see that user on that page. Unless username changes don't affect the quotes list.

EDIT - Which makes me curious. If it's not too much information, how exactly does a username containing only numbers cause a problem such as this? Is it a bug in the software or what?

Yeah, I got a notification for that post as well. The exact same one.

Happened to me, too. Logged in, and noticed I was quoted in a thread that I never posted in. But, at least we know the cause.
