introducing myself after nearly 3 years (oops lol)

hi, i'm jaime! i meant to do this when i first joined, then mostly forgot about this place for a few years. i find it easiest to introduce myself in bullet points, so i'll do that :]
  • gallade is my son <333
  • i mainly like the games! haven't decided on a favorite gen or game yet, but i am a spinoff enthusiast. my first ever game was moon when i was 13
  • i mostly like the trainers, but i do have my favorite pokemon. clemont is my all-time favorite trainer, but i also usually have a different trainer that i hyperfixate on for a few weeks or months at a time. currently it's grusha, i find him very cute (platonically) and interesting
  • roleplaying is my main fandom activity! if i'm not roleplaying at any given moment, chances are i'm thinking of it
  • i greatly enjoy shipping! i have my more popular ships, but i love gaining rarepairs via roleplay the most! my mind always blanks when i try to think of my favorite rarepairs because i've just seen and enjoyed so many, but my favorite popular ship by far is newrival (may/wally) or gemshipping (may/wally/brendan)
  • i'm an enjoyer of the tcg! i still haven't learned deckbuilding, but i do play tcg live every so often and i like it when i'm not flailing around with poorly-built decks (skill issue lol). i also take my friends' bulk and use it for crafts or just stick it on my wall
i don't interact with the pokemon community a lot aside from relatively small discord servers, but i'd like to try interacting with larger sects of the fandom more. it's nice to meet everyone!

a lot of people have the setting enabled to automatically watch threads they reply to so the answer is most likely yes (for example i got a notification about you responding here) but if you really want to make sure someone sees your reply it doesn’t hurt to respond directly!

Hiya there! Welcome to Bulbagarden! I'm also a huge fan of the trainers of Pokémon and also discuss shipping a lot too. (AdvantageShipping is my favorite rarepair and my OTP). I'm also a bit of a writer but I'm more into fanfiction.)

thank you! i like writing fanfics from time to time as well, but it's rare for me to ever finish one. the last one i finished was 2-3 years ago for another fandom, yikes lol

happy to see folks who like the trainers as much as i do! it's been hard to find them outside my niche spaces on discord, so i'm excited to talk with others here more :]

Just have issues finding time or motivation to write? Yeah, I've been there.

Managing your time wisely and keeping your ideas in a vault or notepad can help.

jotting my ideas down instead of compartmentalizing them all in my head does help. i think it's more of an adhd problem for me though; i tend to seek instant gratification, which fanfics aren't for me. roleplay is easier to manage because i don't have to come up with everything myself and i can bounce stuff off other people. i do enjoy the idea of just playing with my own characters like dolls though and have gotten a bit more comfortable with self-rp over time, so my prolonged fanfic hiatus shall end eventually >:]
