Is any one really excited the Grand Festival this year?

I mean, really all there is for Dawn to battle are Zoey and Kenny and maybe the random Nando, if he hasn't fallen into some dimension. I'm not excited this time. The last one was cool cuz May had awesome rivals such as Harley and Drew were both really awesome rivals. Is any one else feeling this way? I'm just not looking forward to it this time.
 
nope. Bring on the gym. Say good-bye to Dawn. That's what I'm excited for.
 
Yah I'm looking forward to the Legue too, Ash has great rivals this year. I don't know if I'll be able to sit through the Grand Festival this time.
 
I'll be excited only if also Jessie does the Grand Festival!

Ok, I guess this would get me excited. If she made it all the way than I'd watch, but if its just Dawn and her rivals I just don't know. Let it be known I am a fan of Dawn, its just her rivals are so boring.
 
Kinda. I'll be glad to see Manmoo, Hinoarashi and Pachirisu in action. The others, not so much.

I'll also be glad to see Nozomi. Normally I don't like the friendly rivals, but if Naoshi wins I'm hoping that Nozomi flips. Throughout DP the writers have remembered a lot, so maybe they will remember her past views.

Other then Nozomi her non-one-shot rivals are boring. Naoshi is weird. Not cool weird, just weird. The only slightly interesting thing about him is his Myuu harp. Yeah...
Kengo isn't much better either. He showed promise near the start with the whole 'Pikari' thing but I've practically forgotten about it now.

What would make my day though is if they Urara or Ayako were at the Grand Festival. Lots of potential there. I'd also be overjoyed if Musashi made it as well.

Battle wise I am looking forward to it. DP has had some nice contest battles such as Nozomi vs Haruka and Urara vs Hikari. The Advanced Generation ones always bored me apart from Shu vs Haruka.
 
Bring on the league says I. *yawns* The only redeeming feature as far as I'm concerned about Hikari's contest arc is Musashi, who will obviously NOT be in the GF.

I am however very much looking forward to the league :-D Satoshi vs Shinji should be amazing!
 
Of course I'm totally excited! I can not wait actually!
Also,Hikari vs Nozomi will be great since we never had hikari to defeat nozomi before.
And,as the others suggested,I can not wait for the league either!Shinji,Jun all make great rivals to Satoshi.(And hopefully Lucas might appear as well! though it is highly unlikely).
 
Meh. I don't care about Hikari and her contests. They bore the heck outta me...I think compared to May's grand festival, its just going to be mulchy, glued together pieces of her normal contests added with more people and a big shiny cup up for grabs. =\

Her rivals are boring. Thats all.

On the other hand...THE LEAGUE! THE LEAGUE! SHINJ vs SATOSHI! WOOT!
 
Only if it involves Mamoswine-based carnage that leads to Glameow being... I dunno, trodden on or something? Yeah. That sounds like a solid 3 episodes.

"Past views?" You mean her not liking people who do both gyms and contests?

She got over that a while ago.
 
Nope, I'm with the people looking forward to the league. Ash has had much better rivals in the Sinnoh region than Dawn's has, as all of Dawn's rivals are friendly and boring. Barry and Paul have a lot more dimension, and are much better characters with much more interesting Pokémon.
 
The problem with Hikari's rivals is that they're all... alright. There's just nothing particularly lovable or detestable about them, so the result of that is a great amount of indifference towards them. I just couldn't care less what happens between them and Hikari, let alone what happens to them alone.
 
I just hope Urara will be in the Grand Festival, and be extra annoying. :3
 
Definitely not. Hikari's not a bad character or anything, but her contests just suck. I wish Haruka would've stayed on just so we could've seen Harley and Shuu if anything.
 
Jeez, the negativity in this thread is astounding. I don't really care about Dawn's rivals either, but I do like the character herself and the Contests still.

In any case we're bound to at least get some good battles out of it, and I do hope Dawn gets to beat Zoey.

I'm not really expecting Jessie to make it, she'll probably do her reporter role she did in the Kanto GF and in the Wallace Cup where she interviews all the coordinators.

Same can be said about a controversial event which happened 2 episodes ago. I probably even remember who was complaining
the most.

As for Dawn's contests...sadly, she is lacking a decent, unfriendly rival. Seems unlikely for Urara to appear in the GF as much as I'd like it. Hopefully writers will figure out something which will make GF interesting despite that.
 
I'm surprised people think Ursula will return, Dawn has too many rivals for that to happen.

Plus Ursula has a Gabite, which now needs no showcasing because Ash is bound to end up with one.
