When I was in Japan during my homestay for only two weeks (not nearly long enough) I got this t-shirt. There's japanese on it so can anyone here translate it?
 
山手 - Yamanote (a train line in Tokyo) or Yamate or Yamade (all placenames)

絆 - kizuna - bonds (as in friendship, for example)
 
That makes sense. The high school that I was a part of was called Yamate Gakuin High School. Thank you so much!
