Is anyone going to miss Dawn when she goes?

Yea I must admit she's grown on me. At first I didn't care for her really, but she's aight.

I guess I'll have to see how I feel when she leaves. I'm guessing I'll miss her a bit. :)

She seems like the result of what would have happened if Delia had a daughter: she's a female Ash.

I hope she won't leave... not only I'll miss her, they'd probably get a third girly girl Coordinator with cute Poké... it'd get seriously ridiculous
They better take the boy (or both boy and girl) from the gen 5 games and add them as sidekicks instead of "replacing" Dawn
But yeah I know I shouldn't expect anything... but I also don't like it when people automatically assume Dawn will leave (people actually did that before Dawn's first ep even aired)

...and despite all that- I did like May and didn't want her to leave but now I prefer Dawn
So who knows XD I guess I'll probably like the new girl too but even if I'll like her... I still want Dawn to stay (and again my idea for a group of two boys two girls - seems like the logical next step for appealing qeually to girls)
 
I miss every character when he/she leaves the show-so yes, I`ll miss Dawn....despite her flawes she still had some good character development.

And it`s inevitable that she won`t be in the main cast after the return to Johto.
 
To be honest, not really. While I did have a funny feeling of sad happiness when I saw May again, and I'll probably have it with Dawn, I don't really think I'll actually miss her. I could be wrong though, only time will tell.

The only character I would probably miss (if possible) would be Ash.
 
What I definitely will not miss is Piplup. But yes, I will miss Dawn as a character if she will leave main cast. I will not miss her as much as I miss May and Tracey, who are so far my most favourite characters, but I will miss her. But as I wrote in another thread, life is change ;-)

Sorry to ruin your dream, but it's inevitable she will be in the main cast for upcoming filler saga, who may or may not be placed in Johto (it most likely will be, but you can't tell for sure).
 
I'll probably miss Hikari, because otherwise Kohei will have no reason to turn up anymore (._.)

I WON'T be missing that insolent little penguin of hers, for certain, or her Mary-Sueness.. unless they decide to make the next girl even more of a mary-sue.
 
The only thing it's possible I'll miss about Hikari is Pochama *shot* xD But seriously, it is. Her personality never warmed up to me much and I CERTAINLY won't miss her dull-as-ditchwater contest arc. At least Pochama is kinda funny and hilariously proud.

If Dawn stay for next gen, I think it's safe to assume she'll:
1. Be an experienced Coordinator, not get too sad about losing, won't need as much support from her rivals
2. Get new rivals (MAYBE one of Zoey/Kenny stay and rarely appear) which can be more of the Drew/Harley kind

So I think if Dawn will stay, you might actually enjoy her next gen 5 Contests

I really think we speak way too early - currently it seems like the wait for next gen will be much longer than the usual...
 
I'll miss Hikari. Yes, she has several flaws, cares too much about her appearance, and has lots of screentime, but she has developed since the beginning of DP and hasn't been getting that much screentime lately. She took her latest contest lost as well as the lost of Eteboth quite well. Also, she's girly, but that doesn't mean she's completely shallow, she got along with MUK. I don't see how she's a Mary-Sue either. Her dub voice is annoying as hell, but if Kasumi and Haruka (Misty and May in this case) had their PUSA VAs during their runs, I'm sure people would be quite annoyed. (I'll stop here since talk about the VAs are banned.)

I won't miss Potchama though, no offense, but I find it an really annoying Pikachu-clone, one Pikachu is enough. Ironically, I was obsessed with it and its game counterpart at the beginning of DP (Japan vers., starting hating during the dub). I really wished they went with the sassy personality, it would of been interesting. Oh well, it's better than NEP, right?

I do think her contest arc during DP could of been handled better, but there's always hope for the filler arc. Same goes for her team, it was more than an advertisment than anything. Again, I'll miss her lots, her personality was fun IMO. Sorry if I was ranting a little too much there.

Also, I highly doubt she'll stay for Gen V, I'd like her character to develop and would rather have a Harley-Drewish rival during the JINO arc. For Gen V, a replacement would be fresh, Haruka, Masato, and Hikari were quite fresh at the beginning of AG.

Not really, they'll replace her with yet another young girl and she'll possibly have a guest appearance.
Personally, I want someone to replace Brock, though.
 
@ Pip, my feelings towards her contest arc are likely to improve a little even during the BF, but it won't be enough to make me want her to stay.

Don't get me wrong - your points are all too valid, but it's just personal preference.
 
I'll only miss her if the new girl turns out to be more annoying, stupid etc. I really didn't like Hikari until the Pochama evolution ep, nowadays I think she is OK.
 
Can people try to explain me - in a very logical and polite way - what is so bad about Dawn?
When I say logical I mean "Dawn steal Ash's spotlight" can't be an argument since that's just childish and ridiculous... and polite means no bashing characters, I'm sick of all the Piplup and Dawn hate... I really want to try and understand the logic behind it... especially since Piplup currently does exactly what Pika does - stay out of ball... the only difference I find is that Pika doesn't show much personality or do much, while it's a FACT Piplup was much more entertaining lately...

With Hikari, I just find her a little bit bland. Her character doesn't have any particularly appealing (IMO) quirks. And it's not helped by the fact that even her rivals don't bring out anything different in her.

Most people don't hate Dawn, its more "We hate Piplup, therefore we hate Dawn". Why that is, I have no idea. I mean I don't like Piplup all that much, but I like Dawn. The character herself is pretty interesting, and had the potential to have and even better contest arc than May's. But it wasn't handled well, rivals were ok/not good, and its generally not as good as May's was all around, though a Johto contest arc could make it better.

I won't say I'll miss Dawn, but I'll miss Croagunk more than anyone
 
No I probably wont. Dont get mad but I find the character childish and just annoying.
