I've always thought that Ash was suspiciously interested in Gary and suspiciously disinterested in girls. However, it's not just Gary: look at how he feels about Ritchie. He's awfully close to Brock too. And let's not forget "Ashley's" several crossdressing incidents. He doesn't really seem to mind them much. And that one time he actually kissed a girl (Melody) he didn't exactly enjoy it.

It's just extremely hard for me to believe the animators aren't hinting at something with all that.

...Again?

Oh, lol, the Tracey screenie. Must go into Caption the Screenshots. Anyway... *sigh* Bye, Mudkipz

It's known as bromance. Brotherly love, not romantic love. Ash is a kind young man. It's in his nature to act this way.

But I voted for the former!

Like people said in the last thread, he's 10. He also never looked comfortable crossdressing to me. (Not that that even means anything)

I just don't think he's gay.

He's not even fighting it.

He said he didn't like it. But in the end he really didn't have a choice.

Nah, I don't think he's gay. He's just really good friends with them.
He's only ten, and I'm pretty sure that most ten year old boys don't care for girls yet.

@Musashi: And if it were just one incident, I might agree with you. However, it's happened three times now, if I'm not mistaken. Crossdressing just isn't necessary that often.

Again if you seen those episodes you'd understand, but than again you don't because once a male puts on female clothes or makes good friends with another male it automatically makes him homosexual. I was wrong, you're not ignorant, you're just stupid.

Three times in 12 years? I'd hardly call that often. It was all played for laughs.

I may not have seen the two other episodes, but I saw the one with Erika's gym. According to the rules, Gym leaders have to accept challenges. All Ash had to do was register a complaint and they would have had to let him in. But he preferred to go the crossdressing route.

How do you know he's allowed to "file a complaint"? She accepted the challenge, but she just wouldn't let him in the Gym. How was he suppose to fight her that way?

No gym has EVER had a rule in both anime and the games where you can file some imaginary "complaint" because a gym leader will not accept to battle you. Ash cross-dressed so he can get a battle with Erica pretending to be another person. I would go on further explaining this but I feel as I would be wasting my time seeing as comedy in a kids show is hard for you to comprehend.

For one thing, crossdressing as a disguise is totally different from doing it and doing day to day activities while crossdressed.

Ash is a hot confused bisexual teenage guy, mmmm ;)

I like Palletshipping admittedly to some extent but no, I don't really think he's homosexual, not necessarily anyway. The show doesn't really focus much on romance to begin with unless it's for humor, and Ash being the main protaganist, it's actually more convenient for him to care about Pokemon more than girls. And please note that even though it was a very long time ago and only ONE time, he WAS attracted to Giselle.

And as for his closeness with his friends? He's pretty darn close with all of his friends, male OR female.

The crossdressing incidents were for the hilarity of it all.... and note that Ash didn't particularly enjoy any of those incidents. ESPECIALLY the "Ashley" one, if I recall he threw down the wig in anger and spat out that the whole getup was stupid.

no. Because he and Misty will get married and have two beautiful children.
