I always thought that Dragonite was this awesome looking and epic dragon. But recently I realized that it's kind of lame. I mean come on, it looks like it has noodles on its head, and it's horn is wimpy. The worst part is the wings; they're so small. At least Charizard's wings are half of a realistic flying size.

I'll always love dragonite, but I can't help thinking about this. I know that a lot of pokemon are supposed to be cartoony, but dragonite shouldn't be so. My thoughts are that he'll always be a classic epic pokemon, but the childish design takes away from it a little, you know?

Do you still think dragonite is cool? I say yes.

I feel that Dragonite doesn't seem to be a truly "cool" Pokémon- it's more on the cute side, but it still has a sense of majesty for me.

Yes. It has always been the nice, friendly dragon that can rip off your head if it gets angry.

Dragonite was, and still is the original Dragon Pokemon to me. Before Game Freak started cranking out Dragons left and right, he was one of the more badass Pokemon to me. Cute and lovable, sure. But I think seeing it use Outrage in the anime near the end of the Johto series cemented that it is also very dangerous if provoked. One of the first real "monsters" in the series.
He only got better with each Generation; now finally being competitively separate from his fan-boy loved nemesis Salamence thanks to Multiscale. (Not that I hate Salamence of course, I just have preferences) Unlike Salamence, he also gets the Elemental PUNCHES and not the Elemental FANGS. (Comparing the two... the punches have 75 base power, 100 accuracy, and an added effect. The fangs have 65 base power, 95 accuracy, an added effect, and a flinch rate. While Salamence may have a chance to use the flinch rate of these moves, it generally has better options to run.)
Overall, there's a lot to like about him. I'm just proud to say that I liked him BEFORE he got Multiscale in Gen V.

Never really liked him as he was just another Dragon Pokemon to me. I still don't understand why it loses Dragonair's blue coloring when it evolves from it though.

I never actually knew Dragonite exists originally, to be honest. I thought the original dragon was Dragonair, so I never had much of an impression on Dragonite as much as Dragonair. That said, because Dragon is not my favourite type, I don't consider Dragonite "cool" anyway.

Thanks for reading.

Dragonite was never that "cool" for me, as it had too much of a derpy look. It could definitely be very powerful, but I never viewed it as "cool." It's not bad, but it's not that great for me, imo. Looks like a character from Dragon Tales.

I did like Dragonair, though. Very pretty and majestic like. And Dratini was adorable.

Dragonite was never that cool to begin with. While I love his movepool, his design is rather odd for a dragon. Aren't his kind suppose to be majestic/menacing?

Dragonite is more adorable then cool I think but he is retty badass... but just to cute to be sary (Which makes me wonder why Joltik has uunerve... it's way to adorable to be unverving_

This. Plus I love the skeleton in Lenora's Gym-epicness.

BUT
He is way to chubby

I don't know if I regard any Pokemon as "cool", to be honest. I have the ones that I like, and the ones that I do not like as much. There are none that I hate, and none that I categorize further (unless cute is a further category?). But still, I don't categorize them actively.

Dragonite is cute, just look at him. In the original games, his line was beast to raise. I hated raising Dratini, and I still do. Stupid worm is worthless for a stage.

Actually, I've increasingly liked its design. It looks the "gentle giant" type, and while it loses the elegant of Dragonair it does get that look of majesty.

... but on the other hand, I also dislike now its abilities. It has gotten gradually less of the kind of pokémon I like playing with. Which is a shame. I am not saying it is a bad pokémon to use, it looks great competitively, but it's just not my thing.

I still like it anyway.

(Also that skeleton WAS fascinating)

Also don't be dissin' Dratini, it's the best stage of the line. The thing is a beast in its own tier that can be quite destructive if not taken carefuly. (Though of course that doesn't mean it isn't hard to raise. But still easier than say, Deino)

I actually like Dragonite better than many of the more recent "fierce" dragon types that supposedly fit the stereotypical impression of a dragon. Which is odd, because I used to despise it for the unconditional fan-worship it got purely by virtue of being a dragon. Perhaps that's why I dislike most of the more recent dragon lines and have come to appreciate Dragonite more, it's a kindhearted gentle giant that subverts the expected appearance and temperament of a dragon. In fact, if I think about it, the only dragon types I like are the ones that are completely unlike stereotypical dragons.

Dragonite has always been a personal favourite of mine, ever since I succeeded in evolving my dragonair in LeafGreen. It's cute, but it's also powerful. The existance of this video only adds it its awesomeness. I like the dragon, and its majesty is going nowhere.

Dragonair's blue color has become Dragonite's teal wings. :N

Cool? No. I mean, the friendly giant is pleasant and whatnot, but it's not as if he whips out a pair of shades and does some super awesome move.
That's how I feel about Dragonite; also his psychique lets him down, quite chubby with tiny wings, what.

Dragonite wasn't cool to me in the first place.

But I always thought that abrupt evolution from sexy Dragonair to hugeDragonite was a bit...off. If they made the evolution line similar, then maybe it would've been cool. Dratini and Dragonair are Eastern-type dragons, and Dragonite is Western... so it really doesn't match...

one of the reasons dragonite is so cool to me is because of what i think was his (kind of) debut in the anime. there at bills lighthouse, and this gigantic thing comes out of no where. at the time, people were probably all "what the heck is that!", but later in the anime, if you remembered it, you would have recognized the silhouette of a drgonite, albeit like 10x bigger.

on top of that, he was probably one of the hardest non-legendry pokes to get in FRLG (my first pokemon game). i forget where you could catch drat ini, cause i bought it, but it requires a lot of training to get it high enough to evolve.
