I edited the thread's title to make the topic clearer, as well as to make it less blatant flamebait.
As for the question itself, Iris is a trainer. A person who owns a Pokemon, raises them, and/or battles with them would be a trainer, so Iris does qualify for that. I don't think that she's a particularly good trainer for multiple reasons, but that doesn't change the fact that Iris is indeed a trainer.
Anyone who owns a Pokémon, cares for them or battles with them is a trainer.
So yeah, Iris is a trainer.
Hi guys!
I have one question : do you think iris is a trainer? I don't think so and I wrote mmy reasons in new thread about iris
and i want your opinion guys
I feel like this thread can't go anywhere else with this topic...
And that's like asking "Is Pikachu a Pokemon?"

What new thread?
Everyone seems to agree that Iris is not a good trainer, and I can't say I disagree. Still, as everyone also agrees, that fact that she raises and battles with Pokémon (including at least one tournament) means that she fits the definition of "Pokémon trainer."
Does she have Pokemon? Has she competed with them in tournaments? Iris is a trainer. A mediocre trainer, but a trainer nonetheless.
She has Pokemon.
So yes.
If she is not a trainer then what she is?
No, it is different because pikachu is really a pokemon, however trainer came from training pokemon and Iris saw training, and journey is boring so She doesn't deserve to be call a trainer

I meant this thread Is iris will back in xy thread
Yep I know trainer means catching, have pokemon and I totally agree with she isn't a good trainer and to beperfectly honest she doesn't deserve any pokemon even her stupid pokemon
Does she have Pokemon? Has she competed with them in tournaments? Iris is a trainer. A mediocre trainer, but a trainer nonetheless.
Yes she is a awful trainer and to tell you the truth she doesn't deserve to be in the anime - she, cameron and trip
She has Pokemon.
So yes.
Yes by name my friend however in reality she, cameron and trip don't deserve to be called trainer
trainer came from training pokemon and Iris saw training, and journey is boring so She doesn't deserve to be call a trainer1. I don't understand what you're saying. It would help immensely if you were more articulate and used proper grammar.
2. You asked for our opinion, in which I gave mine, and then promptly condemned it. If you aren't going to respect others's opinions, then you have no business opening this thread.
3. The definition of a Pokemon Trainer: A Pokémon Trainer (Japanese: ポケモントレーナー Pokémon Trainer) is a person who catches, trains, cares for and battles with Pokémon.
Iris has done everything listed in the definition, thus she is a trainer. There is nothing to argue-it is a fact. Just like Pikachu is a Pokemon.
Now if you meant something along the lines of "Is Iris a Good Trainer?/How good of Trainer is Iris?," then by all means go ahead. But then you need to rephrase this thread's title.
so calm down
I didn't say you are wrong and i competly respect your opinion however as i said
