Looks like it, with Brawl being the next contender.
 
Well I have high hopes myself. It all depends on what they do with it. I was a bit nerved with the space idea at first, but now that I think about it, it seems every video game character is in space these days. >_<
 
Personally, I think I'll probably like Brawl and other games more, but it looks really good, probably the best for this year.
 
I'm not certain. I've seen mixed responses to this game, although I think most of the complaints are not legitimate. It has the potential to outdo all Wii titles up to now. We'll just have to wait and see.
 
Not really fair to judge it before it's out. But if it's more like 64 then Sunshine, I'll be a happy Wii owner.
 
It will be the best video game released this year, no doubt about it. Miyamoto at his brilliant best with a new star-collecting Mario! Can't wait for it to come out here.

So let me get this straight...you want us to say whether or not a game for a system less than a year old is going to be "the best game" for the system? That after this, there won't be any other games that can possibly outdo it?
 
I didn't notice that little text problem. In that case, I think it stands little chance against Brawl alone, forget about however long the Wii is going to last.

Uh...what's the big deal? Considering its only competition for best game on the Wii would be Zelda and Prime 3, (and RE4), its not like it has much else.

Why the cranky attitude, Dogasu? You're usually not like this.

The way the thread question was worded, it made it sound like Super Mario Galaxy is going to be the best game for the Wii ever instead of just being the best game released so far.[/b] My post wasn't supposed to sound cranky...I just thought it was absurd to judge a game as "the best a system's going to get" when said system isn't even a year old.
 
Well, yeah, seriously, that's how I read it! I don't think I can really say it is the best when we haven't even the slightest idea of what Nintendo's cards are. I'm sure they hope it isn't the best game because they want people to buy more future games after it is released.

Saying Mario Will be the best is like putting all your money on a pair of Aces in poker. Though, I must say that I know for some people, mario is their favorite series, so at the same time I can understand how they can say that for themselves.
 
I apologize if I did not go into more detail on what I was asking...my phrasing has always been a bit vague...

I mean if it'll be the best from the titles revealed thus far, including brawl, not for the systems entirety.

Though come to think of it...the GCN had its best titles at the BEGINNING of its lifespan.

I suppose theres a chance wii will not though...

New Zelda?
Quite probable, considering Twilight actually qualifies as a GCN game, so there will probably be one other zelda coming out

New Kirby?
Depending on whether the GCN copy of Kirby is still in development for Wii. Or maybe theyll just scrap the idea completely and make a new Kirby game.

New Metroid?
Maybe, the Prime trilogy is over, so theres a chance there may not be another game for Wii

New Mario/Smash Bros.?
Almost a definite no. Mario and Smash Bros. has been a one per system thing. At least referring to the real marios, im sure there will be plenty of spin-offs.

New Pikmin/StarFox, etc.?
All these titles are probably somewhere in the works

Completely new title?
Possible, depends what Miyamoto has up his sleeve.

Actually, a Zelda Wii has been confirmed to be in development.

And Mario Galaxy has gotten fantastic reviews from magazines and casual users alike. It really sounds like Mario 64 with the creativity and size turned up to 11.

SMG is getting great reviews as of late. At first I was sceptical of the whole space-gravity controls but now I feel rest assured that they will be great.
 
I'm not really sold on it. I'll probably hire it out before I decide whether or not I want to buy it, and even then I just know I'll get much more replay value out of SSBB.

Although, I can't really pass judgement on it, because really all I know about the game is "U R MR GAY."

The letters that have the stars/sparkle on them spell out UR MR GAY. UR in Super, MR in Mario, and GAY in Galaxy.

I'm not one for meme proliferation, but I actually found this one funny because well... it's just an amusing coincidence.
