Is The "Pokédex 3D Pro" Out-Dated Now?

When "Pokémon X and Y" comes out, what will it mean for the "Pokédex 3D Pro"? Unlike it's predecessor, the "Pokédex 3D", the "Pokédex 3D Pro" does not come with an "Update" button. It also required payment, while the first one was free.

So, will the "Pokédex 3D Pro" somehow get an update or will Nintendo release a new version of this altogether?
 
It ~should~ come with the game, but they'll release an (updated) 3DS app to squeeze out a few more $$$
 
It doesn't update? Huh...I guess they will make another, but I still think it would be easier to patch this one.
 
They'd probably update it via patch or something. They might not update it at all though if it's gonna be nearly the same as the in-game Pokedex (full 3D models, all pokemon, etc)
 
Guessing it will be updated, I shouldn't have spent money on it in the first place so no way I'm paying for a Pokedex Pro 3D XY, I hope its just patched.
 
It will most likely be updated for Gen 6, though probably bit by bit.

Ironic though, since X/Y is entirely in 3D, albeit in a different, cel-shaded style compared to Pokedex 3D, but we'll have to see for sure.
 
That reminds me - I don't have Pokedex Pro. Are they using the same models or different models? And did Pro have all 649 in the full version or just the UnovaDex?
 
Actually, the original Pokedex 3D did cost money when first released. They made it a free download later.

Pro has models for all 649 pokemon, all models for the pre-5th gen pokemon are new.
 
I'm hoping that they'll simply update Pro. Sure, I could pay for a brand new Dex via eShop but that doesn't mean I'd be really happy about it. Of course, Nintendo knows I'll shell out for anything Pokemon so they'll probably create a new Dex just to bleed suckers like me dry...
 
I can see them adding DLC for Gen 6 pokémon, maybe $5 or something like that.
 
Well, yes and no. Pokedex 3D Pro is accurate for BW1, so in that sense it will never truly be outdated as long as you keep playing BW1. But since we'll be moving on to XY soon, there's not much need to go back to it.

Also, since Pokedex data is constantly changing in each game (most notably movesets, which can even change mid generation), I don't think it would be worthwhile to have Pokedex apps since we'd need a new one in each game, and IDK about you, but I don't think paying an extra $15 for something I can get online for free to be worth buying each game. So I think they should just integrate Pokedex 3D data into the actual games' Pokedex.

I think they just made Pokedex 3D so pokémon fans on the 3DS wouldn't get angry because of the lack of a new pokemon game on 3ds instead of BW2 on DS

Well like I said, it's only relevant for the game it's associated with (in this case, BW1). They can't just update it with 6th gen data, because then you can't use it for 5th gen again. So that's why I think they should just integrate it into the games' Pokedex.

Are you saying all the pokémon are avaliable in the pokedex in the beginning or we have to unlock each pokémon as we go along? Because if you mean the former that would destroy a main mechanic of the game
 
I hope they update Pokedex 3D Pro to include all of the new Gen 6 Pokemon (at least the ones we're allowed to know about). I don't already own Pokedex 3D Pro, so I wouldn't mind if they just released a whole new one, but I think most people would probably prefer an update.

EDIT: However, I probably wouldn't actually look at it until I beat the game because I don't want any spoilers, including pokemon, aside from pre-release info.
