Is there a Videogame Tournament with Pokemon in it?

no... Pokémon tournaments are for fun (except for some lifeless dudes), so that doesn't exist.

That's not true at all. The national Video Game Championship happened this summer. It's where the VGC shiny Milotic and VGC Weavile came from. I was going to go, but I overslept after staying up all night trying to prepare.

yeah, but did they hand out cash prizes? I don't think so (but correct me if I'm wrong)

In the 2005 Journey Across America, the grand prize winners got a trip to some place and like $1000.

Yeah, they definitely gave out a cash prize. I can't find what it was, but they definitely did.

There was some UK Pokémon VGC recently(ish). A friend of mine went and got into the top 16 before being knocked out. Not sure if they had a cash prize for winning it. I'll have to ask him.

EDIT:
x- Josh -x says (23:29):
If I remember correctly... copy of Pokémon Platinum, trip to San Diego (I think) for finals... can't recall a cash prize

Gamestop had a "Best trainer on the block" tourney, for DP and PBR. Basically there were no legit checks so hackers won (this was in mid 07, i saw people using shaymins, arceuses, and darkrais.) And there were Bad EGGs.

I think there were prizes but i left early.

And one of the reasons Pokemon doesnt have say all these tournys, is because of the Kiddish sterotype assoicated with pokemon, with FPS games and the tourneys (MLG) being called "Hardcore".
