Is this box set worth it?

I think that's about half off. I'd go for it. Of course, I have a passionate desire to own the entire series in DVD boxset form some day, so I may not be the most objective person. '_'

Just be warned it's only the English dub, and there are all of zero extras. Just the episodes.

If you enjoy the english dub and want the eps in your collection, go for it.

If you prefer to watch DP in Japanese, then don't buy it.

Well, I haven't seen the pokemon anime in...maybe 7 years sans a movie here and there, so I'd just like to enjoy the episodes, if their worth it, no extras or Dual language don't bother me much.

But subtitles would be nice.

But yeah...The last pokemon anime region I saw was...I think Johto...

Thanks for the replies.

Ah. I'd probably say that, overall, DP is arguably Pokémon at its best so far. There's lots of newly-introduced recurring characters, returning characters, ongoing storylines involving both external villainous threats and personal conflict, and all kinds of good stuff. Although it really doesn't start to kick off until about halfway through season 10 and a handful of episodes from early season 11 (and a few others sprinkled throughout) aren't so great.

And I can't check right at this moment, but I'm fairly certain the DP sets don't even have subtitles. I could be wrong, though.

Ahh, okie, Thanks Lil Brother.
I appreciate the input.
I'll probably attempt getting them sometime.

Wow, that is a good deal.

I've never seen a D/P box set for that cheap where I live. =o

Anyway, I feel I should mention something. I'm not sure if this would affect your opinion at all, xeno. And I'm not trying to persuade you not to buy the D/P box sets or anything. But I just wanted to inform you about something that happened regarding the Pokemon anime. Apparently, they (Pokemon USA) replaced the original voice actors back in 2006. So, seasons 9 through 12 (that includes Battle Frontier and the D/P seasons, by the way) have the new voices. All I'm saying is that you won't be hearing the same voices that you heard back in the Johto seasons. Again, I'm not sure if this would bother you or not, because some people are more attached to the old voices than others. But it does bother some people. Which is why I thought I should mention this, just in case you weren't aware of the VA switch.

Oh, didn't think they actually did that.

Thanks for the info PokemonTrainerLisa.
I appreciate it.

I was only informing xeno about the VA switch. There's nothing wrong with that, as far as I know. =P

Actually, we can talk about the voices, but it's facts ONLY. And there are a few other things too. See the new announcement that Dogasu made in the Anime forum.

Thanks for the info PokemonTrainerLisa.
I appreciate it.
No problem! Glad I can help! :ksmile:

If you need anymore info about the VA switch, just leave me a visitor message or send me a PM. ^^

Well in any case, I'd only get the boxset if you intend to get the rest of the saga.

Buying a saga just for the first 17 episodes is pointless if you don't see how the saga progresses. Sinnoh is long as hell, almost 200 episodes alone, so its going to be a lot of DVDs to buy.
