I think theres more to this than meets the eye, Meowth betrayed them blah blah blah. From what it looked like, he felt semi bad about betraying them. I could see this as an emotional ride for him maybe, it'd be intresting if Pokemon did this with him. Why else would they give him his old personality back and have him change back to the old Best Wishes Meowth? I don't know, just an idea and wanted to hear peoples opinions on this.
 
I have my own theory on it, similar to yours. He's spent some time with Ash and friends, being part of the gang, but now he's turned back to his old team, but did have some regrets and even had some somewhat friendly parting words with Ash. It may not happen, but I think what could happen is Meowth begins to stew over his time with Ash and compare it to his life with Team Rocket, and begin to wonder if he had made a mistake after all...

Wait, first doing little means they'll leave. Now their getting focused alot and they'll still leave? I confuse...

He never lost his personality in the first place. He just doesn't get a chance to show it off while he's on duty.


As for the topic, I have a hunch this'll be picked up later on in the series. Not just Nyasu traveling with the twerps, but also the whole "almost got caught" gag. I still think there's a good chance that'll happen.

It just seemed like he felt guilty there for a bit, I think hey'll feel guilty for a good bit too the rest of the series. Yes, I just have a feeling this arc is not over yet. With the way Ash reacted at the end too. LOL forgot about the running gag of almost catching Meowth, hmm I guess that could have been foreshadowing.

Nah, hopefully this means more development and interesting character dynamics :p
 
I can easily see the writers treating it like the whole thing never happened to be honest. Its not like past events are brought up too often in this show unless its necessary.
 
I suppose Meowth got over it when Ash said to him that he enjoyed traveling with him, that kinda felt as if Ash had forgiven him. I suppose there will be more references to this in the future (though probably not in the near future, the Rockets probably won't appear during the next 5 or 6 episodes), but I don't think that he will be caught - at least I am trying to ignore all the possible foreshadowing of it, I don't want it to happen (the only capture related thing that I would like to see was Meowth himself throwing a Poké Ball to some Pokémon and capture it and use it as it's own).

Also, the thing "Twerps over the Rockets" in regards to Meowth has showed up a lot in Pokémon, and most of the time Meowth realizes that he is only truly happy with Jessie and James, sharing cookies and stuff.
 
I hope not, since I think that there was a really nice thing building between Dent and Nyasu, and it brought out personality both out of Pika and Nyasu. To me, I hope that Nyasu returns to the twerps down the line and Dent captures it, but... sigh... that probably won't happen.
 
Perhaps if Team Rocket disassembles themselves from their defeat, Meowth may have a chance to journey with Ash and co.
 
I really think it is not over from this episode I get the feeling next time pikachu see's meowth pikachu will have the urge to kill.I mean sure pikachu has been betrayed by meowth before but pikachu did not full trust him.This time I think pikachu really trusted that meowth was telling the truth and when he was not Pikachu was really pissed.So I really think that this anger with pikachu at meowth will not go away.It might also atribute as to why pikachu is a bit mad that it is not going to be used in the 4th gym.Also it hints at a upcoming episode with alder that Pikachu picks a fight with his buffolant which might be a outlet for anger.So I really do not think this is over just yet.
 
You know what'd be awesome? If next time Pikachu sees Mewoth, hes knocks him out and then steals a pokeball from Ash and hits him with it. That way Pikachu could have control over Meowth..... probably never happen but still I hope this is not the end. I really want Meowth to be with Ash
 
The writers had a perfect chance to show Nyasu feeling bad about what he did during the helicopter scene at the end of part two, but they just had him sitting there like a powered down robot instead.

Besides that, I really don't think Satoshi and the others would fall for the whole "Nyasu is a good guy now! Let's let our guards down while we're around him!" thing a second time.

So no, I don't think they'll revisit this again. Which is kind of a shame, since I actually *liked* seeing Nyasu be in character for a change.

No he wouldn't.

Even if something like that happens, Meowth has a choice on whether or not he would listen.
 
I voted the 3rd option. Would be nice if it gets brought up again later, but it might not be. Again though, I really don't want to see Meowth leave Jessie and James. If he's going to turn good for real at some later point, then all three of them should change together, and stay together.

Except he was shown feeling bad for what he did a couple of times. That's why I think this could go somewhere.
 
I won't doubt Meowth would probably pull another scheme like this further down the line. Just have another excuse and Ash and friends would probably be easily suckered into it. Instead of "I got fired...baaaaw" he might go as far as pulling an amnesia card.

I was hoping he would show *some* remorse at the end of the arc though, so I'm a bit disappointed in that. :\
