I apologize if this is the wrong forum.

Okay, so as many of you may know, the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector was spawned from hell's gaming company. It's given me problems, it's given you problems, but unlike other people who go asking for fixes, I'm not interested in those.

I've been trying to fix the connector for quite some time, I have done everything from uninstalling firewalls, reconfiguring system software, and doing all of what Nintendo suggested on thier site, even when I knew that wasn't the problem. Nothing works on this thing, I would say that I die a little each time that connection fizzles out between the DS and the computer, but that happened long ago.

What I want to know, from anyone who can help, is what the fool-proof alternative to using the Wi-Fi Connector is? Is there anything that has worked 100% of the time for you to get online with your DS? I missed out on the Shaymin event because of this friggin' connector, and I don't want to have to miss the surfing and flying Pikachus.

Are there any other better alternatives to using the USB Connectors to get your DS online?

Buy a Linksys Wireless Router, it could run you around $50-$60 but it's well worth the money.

I too used a Wi-Fi Connector for nearly a year, worst experience of my life. But as soon as I bought this router, everything was gravy from then on. I had zero problems connecting to Wi-Fi on my DS, and even my Wii as well.

Plus it works fantastic for nearly any Wi-Fi device you may have, be it 360, PS3, etc. It's easy to install and set up as well. Highly recommended.

This. Routers are reliable and rarely have issues, and can work for multiple devices.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to go the route of a new... router. That's an insanely complicated route to go down, not to mention my roommate doesn't like the idea of 'new' things happening to her computer. Both of our computers attach to the same router.

Isn't there anything else that works as well? Any of them newfangled DSs have built in Wi-Fi yet?

I'm going to move this to technology help, since thats what this is.

I'm having trouble even using the wireless router atm...

I really want to get on to grab myself a copy of the Pikachu route. I have a hard time believing that the Wi-Fi Connector is not the culprit. That may only be because it's been a piece of donkey crap to me in the past very frequently.

It could very well be an issue with thier server load of a million of DSs trying to connect to the thing at once, but the traffic should have slowed down since the 1st.

I just want my Pikachu route, where can I get that route without being ran around in circles by a Wi-Fi Connector made by the devil?

I am unable to connect to Wi-Fi too and I have Linksys.
I called nintendo, they tried to help me by having me change some settings but it didn't work.
I took both of my DS's to Gamestop and they helped me as much as they could but still not enough.

It's really frustrating and I don't know who else can help me fix this?

Same here, I've done everything under the sun, ran through all thier suggested fixes on the official site, and ran a sweep of the main computer interface.

Nothing works, and nintendo doesn't seem to have an accurate answer for why nothing works.

Yeah. It really frustrates me, because I feel like I'm missing out on something. I'm unable to do what I want to do, and it frustates me ever more that it's not happening to many other people. I feel left out

The same thing happens to me. Weird.

ive been having so trouble latly too but im starting to think it due to the Wi-Fi explot that nintendo dealing with right now

It seems to me that this Tech forum isn't widely visited, why was my thread moved to a place where very few would see it?

Some help would also be nice, but I'm not sure how likely it is to get something like that at this point. I can't buy a new router, and I still doubt that would fix it, as everything else nintendo suggested doesn't work.

What I'd like to know is if there's an alternative way to connect to Nintendo's WFC.

All of the DS's have built in WiFi connectivity.
However, your problem doesn't seem to be with the DS but with your router.
Do you have a wireless router or are you just using standard broadband?
Because if you don't have a wireless router, as far as I'm aware the Nintendo WiFi Connector is your only option.

I have a wireless Belkin router and, once I configured it to WEP security settings, have had no problem with it at all.

You need a router with a WEP security key. Linksys works fine, I have an old one, they seem to work well.
