...a 58-pound Fluke, to be exact. He is my newly adopted dog, an Alaskan malamute. I love him to pieces. The cats are all properly terrified of him, but he's very gentle and not at all aggressive, unless he sees another dog.

I may as well put in a plug for the local Humane Society, which is where we got Fluke. Please consider adopting a shelter dog if you really want a pet.

That makes me happy to hear that you adopted him. There are so many animals that have no homes and I'm glad to hear that you gave this dog a home.
 
He looks like my neighbor's dog. Be warned, he's going to be a BIG dog.

So I've heard. He hasn't been eating too much lately, though, because he came home with an airborne virus called 'kennel cough' and has been on antibiotics.
