I've been challenged to a match

I haven't played my crystal version in years. So my friend and I decided to see who was the true master at pokemon. I'm putting a team together right now, and I'd like any suggestions or input. The rules for our match are: level cap at 65, no items, and no legendaries.

Right now I'm thinking:
Typhlosion/Charizard
Dragonite
Machamp/Nidoking
Blastoise/Feraligator
Gengar
Scyther

I have no idea what his team is, so I'm looking for a balance. I'd like to hear about your best teams too. Thanks!

Fealigatr
Gengar
Scizor(can't you evolve your Scyther?)

My best non-Legendary Crystal Team was:
Typhlosion
Dragonite
Tyranitar
Feraligatr
Ampharos
Meganium

Thanks Fox. Ha, I've forgotten so much stuff. Of course Scyther evolves (doh). Forgive me because I haven't played in years. I remember Tyranitar being one of the stronger ones. I also have a Meganium.
