I've lost my Squirtle!!!

Hi guys, I thought I'd pick up Pokemon Yellow after several years of not playing. I decided to get squirtle so I went to the Police Woman in Vermillion and apparently she's already given it to me. I head over to a computer and access bill's PC, I search every single pokemon there and I can find neither Squirtle, or its evolves. I have no idea where it is? I highly doubt that I released it into the wild...

Any ideas?

Some parts of the data could be corrupted since the game is old. I've had pokemon disappear off my older games before. Also check anywhere else you can leave your pokemon, like the daycare.

I remember my first time playing Pokemon Yellow I could not recieve Bulbasaur. It looks like a glitch in the game itself, since Gen 1 was pretty much the bug-infested days of Pokemon.

Not getting Bulbasaur is normal if your Pikachu isn't happy enough.

Thank you everyone for your replies, I appreciate it. I knew I hadn't traded him, or released him and I definitely remember having him as I remember blastoise using the skill Hydra Pump. Turns out Sweetarcanine was spot on!! He was with the daycare man!!
