So has anyone ever seen any Japanese dramas? I'm currently watching Hana Yori Dango 2 and I've already completed season 1 of the series (Hana Yori Dango is a drama based off of the manga/anime by the same name). I've also seen a little bit of Hero (about a prosecutor and a girl who works with him). So has anyone else seen any Japanese dramas?

HYD1 is very good. HYD2 ... not so much. :| But what do you expect, the first is adapted straight from the manga while the second is "let's write a sequel fanfic!

Replying to this thread made me just realize, the actor who played Chiaki in Nodame Cantabile is the same actor who portrayed Tuxedo Kamen in Sailor Moon Live Action. Man, didn't notice that at all while I was watching Nodame. ^_^;
Anyway, even though I've seen quite a bit of J-drama, I haven't seen much I'd highly recommend. Just HYD (Season 1 only), Densha Otoko, and possibly Nodame Cantabile. The others range from crappy to decent in my book. *sigh* Maybe I've just had bad luck choosing which J-dramas to watch.
Next on my list was My Boss, My Hero, but summer vacation ends next Friday so I don't think I'm going to be watching that until the Christmas holidays.

Kind of wierd how all the fan reviews I've seen so far for HYD 2 gave it good ratings (then again I've only seen three reviews so far). Personally, I find season 2 to be just as enjoyable as season 1 but that's just me.HYD1 is very good. HYD2 ... not so much. :| But what do you expect, the first is adapted straight from the manga while the second is "let's write a sequel fanfic!
P.S.: Based on what I've seen so far it seems that HYD 2 also follows the manga (though it also makes a lot of changes). Then again, I've only seen a few episodes.

I liked Hana Yori Dango returns also (but I'm not a fan of the comics or anime, in fact a friend got me into the drama)... I don't know if I watch JDrama regularly, but I think I'd probably like to if there were shows as charming as those two.
