I think Luna Tiger is referring to the opening that featurs Bugsy and Scyther, Whitney and Miltank, Clair and Dragonair (?), and Morty and Gengar (?). If so, then you're thinking of the opening to Johto League Champions, which was almost completely animated by OLM for 4Kids and never shows up in any of the Japanese openings.
