I saw this on Toon Zone earlier today:

I just noticed this while watching one of the episodes recorded off of KidsStation's reairing of the series.

You won't believe this, but the scene where Kojirou's tooth is knocked out, complete with blood is removed from the japanese reairing. The way the scene plays out, all you see is the cartoon stars, and then Musashi having a tantrom on Kojirou...

This makes no sense at all...

Here's a clip of the scene edited.. - http://www.sonicfighters.com/FightingMagic/Videos/PKMN.avi

I'll have to check to see if this scene is kept in the Indigo Box set that was just released in the U.S.

4kids editing tentacles are none stopping the borders of US!

The Battle Aboard The St. Anne

That must've been cut by 4Kids, because I've seen that episode many times---it's one of my all-time favorites---and I don't recall anything of that sort happening. I think I know where it goes though: when Jessie's screaming at James for buying the Magikarp, and he's cringing in the corner wearing the butler's uniform, right?

I remember seeing the tooth and blood in the English dub during its syndication days (1998/1999). I don't think I've ever seen the episode outside of that context, though, so I don't know if Kids' WB! made the edit, but it wasn't 4Kids.

*quotes thy self*

There are two dubbed versions of that episode. Actually, there are three. o_O

Version one was the sneak peek thingy that was never shown again.

Version two was just a standard dub. This was on the original Indigo League DVDs.

Version three was exactly the same, but a couple things were cut. Some shots of merchandise being sold, and another shot of James's tooth and blood flying into the air after Jessie maulled him. After a certain point, this became the version that was always aired on TV.

Actually when they first started airing the episodes on Kids Station, they made an announcement that they would not be the originally aired episodes. I will try to find the link. One of the biggest changes was the addition of a CGI intro effect.

Reminds me of 4Kids adding CGI to "Mewtwo Strikes Back"...

That's right, there was a Japanese CGI'ed version (wasn't it the one on DVD?). However, I could have sworn I heard or read the 4Kids producers saying they added some...

Well, Argy, I don't remember anything about CGI being added to the First Movie......

However, in the First Movie audio commentary (on the DVD), the dubbers mention that they did add a few things to the background, such as the storm clouds during Mewtwo's storm.

I remember that commentary but I think 4kids said that they got the movie with CGI clouds and that they didn't do it and that we were lucky that the Japanese went to the trouble. I'm sure they said that unless I heard wrong.

I haven't seen the commentary in a few months now. I could just pull it out and play it but I can't be bothered right now.=P

I checked out the recently released Indigo Box set, and the bloody tooth is kept in that release. I'll post screenshots after work tonight.

It was also on the VHS version, which I used to have. I'm guessing that it was a network edit and not 4Kids, as it probably would have been edited on the DVD if it were done by 4Kids.

Huh? You mean you don't know what CGI is, Kyle?

That's easy.

CGI is Computer Graphics, and I don't know what the "I" stands for (Interface, maybe?).

Anyway, all I know is that it has something to do with computer graphics, lol. XD
