I noticed after rewatching some older Pokemon episodes...in the new D and P episodes, Jessie has a much less evil looks to her face.

They've always been Comic Relief Bad Guys...

They sure give her alot of freaky expressions now...not that Im' complaining.

Actually I know what poke means. Although Musashi and Kojiro were never truely evil, in Kanto especially, the animation portrayed them with less bubbly and happy looking designs.

Maybe they are beyond the point of being taken seriously so they changed the look to reflect it.

I noticed that, too.

I blame it on having stalked Ash so long that they lost their minds. :p In fact, I think Jessie's the one who's lost it the most.

I actually think it's a Thunderbolt or two too many that's screwing up with the TRio's minds. Though they're not all crazy!

Okay, Jessie is. Very. She was a bit nutty to begin with, which makes a lot of sense considering her mom, but as time goes by, she's getting nuttier and nuttier. I often recommend putting aside some of their measly salaries to buy her some medications.

Meowth is mostly still okay, though he's gotten less sensible and lets Jessie get away with outlandish plans more often than not. The Boss Fantasies are the main sign that he's getting desperate and will be needing kitty meds in a few Thunderbolts' time.

James is actually getting more sensible. Sure, he's more panicky than he used to be, but not by much; that, I think is more the product of losing so much. He actually complains at his partners' lunacy and often expresses his doubts about their plans. In the old days, he just whined a bit about having to do all the work. Now he's all like "wait, hold on, you sure this is a good idea?" Of course, being weak-willed and naive, Jessie and Meowth manage to convince him of their plans' righteousness almost every time. Though, all considering, the fact that he's still the least crazy after all he's been through is a sign of enormous inner strength.

you're absolutly right. maybe if they zap james a little more, he'll become the next proffesor, though that would be sort of scary, seeing james in a lab coat.

meowth is totally mental now. in the middle of an episode, he should be dragged to a mental asylum.

In the more recent seasons like Battle Frontier and D/P, the writers have been definitely turning Jessie into a lunatic while showing James as more sensible and kind-hearted person as well.

I think ever since James got Mime Jr. the writers have begun writing him a bit different...while at the same time Jessie has turned into a psycho. Its much more noticeable in Battle Frontier and D/P than it was in Hoenn or before that, so watch the more recent eps to see what I mean.

The Electrike episode, for one.

But she was pretty kind in the Aipom-Team Up episode.

Well, they always have their nice episodes . .

A good example of Jessie losing her cool was one of the more recent episodes . . the Rakurai Training Center episode where she runs away screaming and crying at the same time . . hilarious.

Never in my life did I imagine that Jessie will be crying and I will just point at the screen and laugh. And then came the Electrike episode. And I was all "...hahah yeah, good riddance, girl, come back when you remember what it's like to be A HUMAN BEING."

lol wut
Jessie is down right scary, it's funny and creepy, compare it to the first episode they were in, they were cool, calm mysterious, blasting off is not good for ones mental health.

I thought this was going to be a Jessie fanservice thread. Now I'm angry at the world.

I was thinking something similar, actually.

Yeah, I don't really like how she's portrayed in a bunch of the more recent episodes, but it's okay. The Eipom episode and its ilk are cute. x3 So long as it's funny and not too bad, I don't mind at all!

Stuff like the Manene episode and Gara-Gara's Bone Club, I hate.

The Rakurai episode wasn't bad at all. ^^; I didn't mind it, at least.

Kojiro being almost a good guy predates the Manene episode, definitely. ^^;

Yeah, I kind of prefer the older style of drawing them, but it's way too stiff and serious at times. So my favorite would probably be how they were drawn in the Love and Youth special. Kind of a mix of the old Kanto style and the new. Pretty~

That's impossible, Jessie isn't ten years old. There is no fanservice thread for such silliness!

...I really need some new rants/punchlines.

Lose the earrings and we'll talk.

Yeah, I remember watching the very first episodes and going "woah, these guys are bad to the bone etc." and wondering if they'd appear again. They did, and now the make me laugh instead of inducing tension at the "probable" capture of Pikachu. It's just getting old now, sometimes they even forget to grab him they're so involved with eating or conspiring to catch other pokemon to please "da boss".
