I prefer Celebi. Grass type pride!!!!

Both are about the same in battle. They perform different roles and they both do it well.

I prefer Celebi's backstory over Jirachi's. Frankly, the 'space Pokemon' like Jirachi, Deoxys and the Cleffa line have never interested me. Now, a time traveling sprite with a backstory shrouded in mystery? That's right up my alley.

Their movepools are more or less equal. Both have excellent choices for what they need to do. However, Jirachi completely roflpwns Celebi in the type matchup department. Steel typing (aka the best defensive type in the game) vs 7 weaknesses, one of which is x4? Not even a contest.

I still prefer Celebi over Jirachi.

I love both but when it comes down to it a lot hangs on design and cuteness of lore for me - and in this case Jirachi juuust edges ahead.

I prefer Celebi since there are actually Celebi-related things you can do in the games, whereas Jirachi has always been event-exclusive so I don't really have any attachment to it.

Also, Jirachi is EVIL in competitive battling. I'm not even talking about the Iron Head flinch set, that's not very powerful. Calm Mind+Wish+Thunder+something else is godly, even when I used it, and I'm terrible at using pokemon!
