Johto on DVD?

Master Quest was released on DVD way back in 2005 or whatever it was.

Johto Journies and JLC were on DVD, but not season boxsets. Johto has been out on DVD for many years now.

Yeah, the only problem is that Johto Journies and Johto League Champions discs are really hard to come by due to how long ago they were released. You can check auction sites like e-bay, but there's really no guarantee that you'll find all the discs you're looking for.

Another option would be to import the excellent Australian "Super Wallet" sets. You'd need a region-free player for that to even work, and I'm not sure of any sites that would ship to places outside Australia, but that could be a possible alternative for you.

You'd think TPCI would have announced something by now as far as a re-release of those seasons go, what with HeartGold and SoulSilver being out and everything, but I guess they don't have any plans to do so at the moment.

They probably feel Johto boxsets won't sell. If HGSS could do nothing to get Johto re-released on DVD, I don't know what will.

If someone told me Scott loved Johto I'd ask if April Fool's came early.

Seriously, Johto was a great saga, I miss it.

There are boxsets on Amazon right now.

I don't think that's the case. They're focusing on the more recent seasons and those Element discs right now. Maybe once they're done with the Element sets, they could go back and release Johto. If they could release the Orange Island set pass the ten anniversary, then I don't see why they couldn't release Johto sets pass the release date. Just because you hate Johto doesn't mean that everyone else, including TPCI, feels the same way. They're not even starting the G/S manga releases until August, even though it would make more sense to start that arc earlier due to HG/SS. So they could have a later date for the DVDs as well.

No offense, it seems kind of odd to me that you're implying that Johto box sets won't be release when I believe you've mentioned before on how you think the whole series will eventually be out on DVD. It just confuses me as to where you really stand on Johto being out on box sets. I don't see a valid reason for them not to release the first two Johto seasons on DVD.

Anyway, you could find most of the Johto League Champion discs used in various online stores. Though, the problem with that is that they can be really expensive. I found one disc online for around seventy dollars. I love Pokemon and I would love to have the whole Johto arc on DVD, but I really don't want to pay that much money for a disc with seven episodes. If that was the price for a box set, it would still be a bit much, but at least there would be more episodes to watch and enjoy than with a seven episode disc. There was also a Johto Journey DVD, though I've seen more VHS than DVDs for that season, which was over a hundred dollars.

So, while those seasons are available on DVD, they tend to be seriously expensive and not everyone can search through various online stores for used products. I would love it if they could release the first two Johto seasons on DVD. I think that the Master Quest sets are out of print, but they could be a bit easier to find, and at a cheaper price, than the discs for Johto Journeys and Johto League Champions.

To find the Dvds, since they are old, you can go but them used at all the closing Hollywood video stores in the US for about $3.00. That's how much I got my Johto Dvd for.

Hurry before they are all gone!

To be more accurate the Australian rerelease boxsets.

Super wallets are also getting harder to find due to Magna pacific being taken over by beyond last year and the super wallets eventually getting discontinued.

However at least beyond/ magna home entertainment (magna pacific's new name)are rereleasing the new boxsets at a extremely fast rate.

We just got season 1 and 2 rereleased so far.

Season 3 and 4 are coming in June though of course you do need a DVD player that plays region 4 as you said.

I can see why us Australians got Johto. There was alot of demand for Pokemon episodes on DVD's coming from kids. Plus add that to the fact there was no DVD's of Johto in Australia prior to those super wallets. Those super wallets are infact the very first Australian Johto DVD's.

I waited till 2007 when those super wallets released just to see a Johto episode I missed back when it aried on TV many many years ago because I didn't want to watch it online for some reason at the time.=/

As for the rerelease us Australians are getting. Well I guess they sold well and have the demand I guess.=/

Anyway I hope you guys eventually get the johto sets rereleased. Who knows maybe some demand might appear one day like what happened in Australia and you finally get them.I hope for your sakes because it's worth having a full collection. I know I'd be annoyed if I couldn't get Johto.

A little too fast I fear, Season 2: Disc #2 and #6 play episodes in the wrong order if you select "Play All" from the DVD menu. and 4/6 discs ave 9 episodes whereas 2/6 have 8, yet most discs only display 8 episodes to choose from. =P
