OK, so I know that after beating Mt. Battle you're supposed to receive one of the three Johto starters. No matter what guide I've looked in, all it tells me is "you get your coice of one of the three Johto starters."

I beat the 100th Mt. Battle trainer.. and all I got were those pokecoupon things. I didn't get offered any of the starters. Did I miss something? Am I supposed to go somewhere? I had a full team of 6 when I beat the last guy.. was I supposed to have an empty slot on my team? Although somehow that doesn't make much sense, them trying to get you to play with a 5-pokemon team when the final trainer has a full team of L70 pokemon. o_o;

Anyway. If someone could please let me know if I'm supposed to go anywhere to get the pokemon (if any place at all) or point out if I missed a detail somewhere, it'd be much appreciated. I hate asking questions when the answer seems like it should be so simple.. but at the moment, game guides aren't being very helpful. XP

Edit: That title should totally read "Johto STARTERS in XD Question." *pokes it*

You can't teleport out, and I don't think you can use the PC. All you can do is save between battles.

You have to use the same team of six Pokémon for all one hundred battles. You cannot change their order, nor can you access the PC at any point. If you fufill those conditions, Mt. Btlmaster Battlus will offer you one of the three Pokémon after you defeat him. The next time he will only offer the two others you didn't select---meaning you can only get one of each.

Ah. That explains it, then. If I got an alert that Miror B was out and about I'd defeat an area leader and then go off in search of him to try and get the shadow pokemon I'm missing. And wow, I didn't know you couldn't change their order either.. I was always switching the team order around to put my weakest ones out first to gain EXP. Mystery solved, then!

Thanks, both of you! Looks like it's back to Mt Battle for me. n_n;

You can switch the order of the party but not with the PC, trust me. I got the starter by doing all 100 straight without saving or going to the PC. I'm not sure bout the other restrictions.

That's not what I meant. You can switch Pokémon during a battle but you cannot switch their order outside of battle.

Oh, no, I understood that. I was saying that I was switching their order out of battle so that the ones with the lowest levels were always the ones to go out first, that way they'd earn EXP even if I ended up having to switch them out during battle. n_n

Well that's perfectly fine. All you have to do is keep the same order going into each battle and stay away from the PCs.

When I do the 100-battle challenge to get the starters, I like to put one of my level 100s (usually Alakazam or Mewtwo because they have the widest range of attacks) as the first slot and something I want to raise as the second.
