July 2012 "Pocket Monsters Special" Review Thread

So Bel wanted to give up being a Pokedex holder to be Araragi's assistant, and gave it to White?
 
One more to give up, by Cheren...I call Hugh gets it.

White's needs by this point:

Yunibo to evolve twice, and Jessica once, and Servine to accept being Amanda, then evolve.(and begin creepy White & Amanda as a Serperior fanart)

Accept Gigi's path in life.

Meet Anthea, Concordia, Banjirou and Hugh.

Change to Mei's appearance.

Discover her Dex Holder skill.

And get another Pokémon of her own while she's at it.(I see Mandibuzz or Simipour)



Black needs:

Musharna via Moon Stone, Brav Back, and a final Mon(calling Reshiram or Simisage)

Get to the League.

Beat Alder.

Beat N, Ghetsis and Colress(White could do this too...)

Meet Anthea, Concordia, Banjirou, Roxie, Marlon and Hugh.

Change to Kyohei's appearance.
 
Heck yeah, this is great news! I didn't even think of Belle giving to her, but considering how Belle was in the game, it makes sense. But, it seems to be working in one of the panels? Does that mean Belle's got hers fixed somehow?

Now just to find out why Belle gave it to White and see if Cheren is going to give up his.
 
So, more or less Wally repeated... I don't get why characters that aren't nameable can't have a Pokédex. I'm still hopying they will return to Wally being a Pokédex holder, but this seems to point otherwise. Cheren's Pokédex will probably go to Kyouhei or Mei, depending on who isn't the Aspertia City hero. All protagonists should have a Pokédex, dammit!
 
So White is a Pokedex holder now.

I'm going to be really annoyed if she ends up taking on Mei's hairstyle/outfit. White's character design is the polar opposite of Mei's character design. It wouldn't make any sense.

I'll also be annoyed if she simply gives up on convincing Bubu to reconsider following N. I mean, after the infamous ferris wheel scene, there's no way she can let that slide. Even if Bubu was unhappy in the Musical business, there's no excusing the fact that N took advantage of this situation. It's clear that White has unfinished business with N.

I'll also be very annoyed if Black ends up taking Kyohei's appearance as well. I want Kyohei and Mei being their own characters, it's not like Touko/Touya aren't mentioned in-game. This isn't the same situation as Kris and Kotone. In this case, it would be like stuffing Gold in Red's FRLG outfit. Anyway, the BW chapter of Special has been extremely disappointing imo. It's not as nearly as bad as HGSS, but still not very good. I hope the BW2 chapter picks up.

Given what they did with Crystal, that's not awfully unlikely... But hopefully not.

Hey, sorry for the late reply, but yes, White does catch the Vulchai that was attacking the Meloetta. When Bel asks her why she bothered to capture such a wild pokemon, White says that its impudent nature and its vicious face will make it perfect for playing villainous roles.

Also, in the panel right after Araragi-Hakase spits out her coffee, she says that they had *just* finished repairing Bel's broken Zukan and that her father was on the way there now to hand it over to them. On the following page - which nobody's linked to in this thread - we see Araragi handing the fixed Zukan over to White.
